Ramada Crawley Gatwick

The worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
Dirty corridors, dirty room, pubic hairs in the bathroom, broken door locks. The breakfast was cold, greased and disgusting with the eggs cooked in the deep fat fryer. The receptionist was rude and could not care less when ŷou complained. Refused room service and told that they had no wine for the next three days and no facilities for serving ice. Disgustingly low standards and a could not care less attitude from the staff. It's a great shame because the original George Hotel on which The Current Ramada is based was a lovely old fashioned coaching in all of the issues relate to bad management and place just needs a damn good shake up. The very scruffy car park has guys noisily washing cars from very early in the morning which just adds to the disappointing experience. I would never give this hotel another cance.

Dreadful rooms, springs poking through bed, very stuffy rooms. Bathroom smells of urine.Phone reception to complain. Absolutely nothing done about it. Not very happy at all. The worst hotel I've ever been to!! Wasn't cheap either

Well where do I start.
This hotel is the worst I have stayed at over the last 10 years and I have travelled alot.
Springs coming through the bed. No air con. Windows don't open. Horrible smell of damp.
Stay well away

I stayed at this hotel whilst working in the area. I stayed for a total of 5 nights.

I had a Twin Room that was shared with my fellow worker and myself, the room number was 171, this was inside the Sussex Wing, separate from the main hotel.

The check in was quite random, as we gave our names the person on reception couldn't at first find our booking or could he be bothered to really explain where breakfast was or any of the available facilities, a short comment about the code needed to get into the block.

The room
The Sussex wing, from the outside really does look like a council flat block, and the signage for parking in the very oddly shaped car park is confusing, signs up for the George Hotel and nobody mentioned to us that this is what the place used to be called. The door on the Sussex wing has a key code entry system, then into the hallways with the stained carpets.
The room was quite nice albeit a little dated. Comfortable beds, with Tea & Coffee facilities, Corby trouser press, TV and a nice bathroom, with 3/4 bath/shower sink and toilet, non mist mirror in the room also. Our room was on the ground floor.

Breakfast was in the room opposite Reception (almost), the staff in the Breakfast was nice and friendly, Paulina remembered from day one our requirements for toast and tea/Coffee and always had a friendly welcome for us. The Breakfast itself really was not up to a good or pleasant standard. There was a choice of cereals, some cold meat and cheese and various juices, then we move onto the Hot breakfast selection.

Sausages, always looked undercooked, no flavour and generally under standard quality.
Bacon, Only one day the bacon was cooked well, each day the rashers were pale, chewy and thin. Tomatos and Mushrooms, Always looked grease filled, barely cooked again.
Scrambled Egg, this stuff was hideous, this looked like Egg Custard, swimming in water, no flavour and generally displeasing to look at. Disgusting! There was also Baked beans.
Most days we found the Cafe's or various food establishments in the close proximity to get fed in the mornings.

Overall the hotel is comfortable, friendly staff, and an overall relaxed atmosphere. The Breakfast and rooms need improvement. Great for what we required, but would consider a different hotel for a longer stay.

Room Tip: I imagine the main house would be much nicer rooms?

Very well located, next to shops, pubs and restaurants and easy acces to Gatwick airport either by train or bus. It´s a good option if you have a stopover at Gatwick airport. The hotel manager is very friendly and helpful,

This hotel isn't too bad in all honesty, if you're looking for somewhere to just put your head down then this would be it. Big rooms and friendly staff.

Parking could be improved and decor could also be bought up to date but a pleasant stay.

I booked this and was looking at the other Ramada in Gatwick and therefore missed the reviews.
I paid £170 for 2 rooms we were a group of 6 and on arrival like so many we were directed to the Sussex suite I think it is called.

The room was disgusting, bed had blood stains, a bare socket on the wall with wires exposed was by the bed, the smell of stake cigarettes I wont go on... it is a dump that needs levelling.

The parking is not great to, no security, dark and possibly not very secure if your car is steal'able!

Don't be confused with the other Ramada Gatwick!

Room Tip: Avoid this property
