I stayed at Rowfant House on Friday January 11, and this was my second one night stay.
My room whilst not in perfect order (some paintwork damage and a ceiling light had blown) was very comfortable, with just the right level of heating and a very warm and comfortable bed with impeccably clean and fresh bed linen. The room also oozed charm, whih a lovely view and lots of interesting nooks and crannies.
In fact the whole building oozed charm! To get to my room you had to pass through a room which was rather like a library. Lots of lovely dark wood, which was in pristine condition and smelled of beewax. A key benefit of Rowfant House is it's "Olde Worlde" charm - and this is genuine, not out of a tin. Evidence of the the building's interesting history is everywhere, and this really helps create a comfortable and relaxed environment.
I needed to get away early the next day, and arranged to have breakfast a 0700 (official signs say Saturday breakfast starts at 0830, so this was quite a concession), and to pre-order what I wanted to speed matters up further. This was all accepted with no fuss whatsoever, and when Saturday came all went to plan. The lady running breakfast was waiting for me at 0700 sharp, and the meal was brisky dealt with exactly as I wished. In addition the breakfast was delicious.
I have left the best to last. All of this cost just £30. OK the room wasn't en-suite, but compare this to other accommodation in the Gatwick area and I would challenge you to beat it.
Overall a very pleasant stay.
