Stayed here with my family before a skiing holiday. We did the day before check in with Thomson airlines, stayed the night in the hotel and then walked to the terminal with our hand luggage. Absolute bliss !. We used their car park facility and obviously they do not leave the car parked at the hotel but take it elsewhere. We could not fault the hotel , it may be expensive but it is excellent quality and you pay for the location . Did not have breakfast as rate did not include and I am far too frugal to pay for a hotel breakfast for a family of four!

We stayed at the Sofitel for 2 nights before our flight back home. The hotel was extremely convenient for travel out of the North Terminal at Gatwick. Check in for our group was smooth. Sleep was the first order of business as we had just arrived on a 13+ hr flight from Singapore. As other reviewers have said, the beds are VERY comfortable. The rooms were typical UK small but good enough for 2 nights. We didn't enjoy the English breakfast in the restaurant, however my husband & I enjoyed our meal at the Brasserie restaurant - the goats cheese pizza was to die for..!

The service was OK. I guess washcloths are not a normal amenity in England (though we did have them at the Hilton Gatwick...). I had to call down to Housekeeping both days to request washcloths... you'd think if I put in the request once, I wouldn't have to do so twice, but that was not the case. But nevermind... small matter - bring your own and save yourself the hassle!!

I would defintitely stay there again if I desired a room close to the airport as you coudn't beat the location.

We have stayed at the Arora Crawley and the Felbridge previously, but for our early long haul morning flight form the North Terminal we couldn't be bothered with courtesy buses or the like, espepcially as we were travelling with our 10 month old son, so opted for the Sofitel Gatwick. It is one the more (if not the most) expensive airport hotels at Gatwick, but we still found the price worth the convenience of the direct walkway link to the North Terminal.

We arrived and parked in the temporary drop off area, checked in and my husband parked the car in the hotels car park, literally around the corner (walking distance back). Check in was efficient and polite. We had booked directly with the hotel (hence the on-site parking) and went for a superior room which guaranteed us a higher floor which we wanted for the runway views. The room as expected was on the small side, but comfortable, clean, well refurbished. Nothing to shout form the rooftops about but absolutely nothing to fault either. It was very quiet throughout our stay too. There was a nice new looking travel cot for our baby. Bathroom was adequate with good water pressure.

Once settled, we popped over to the North Terminal to the M&S Food Hall there, and grabbed ourselves some snacks and a half bottle of cold Prosecco. The bar in the hotel kindly obliged when we asked for a couple of Champagne glasses and so we enjoyed a glass of bubbly sat on the windowsill overlooking the runway. The view made the room feel alot more spacious and welcoming, so if you can request a runway view, do so.

We ate at the Brasserie which was a bit of disappointment. I opted for a One Pot Spanish Stew but was a little insipid to be honest. The prices were reasonable though and they had a nice selection, so you'd be sure to find something to your taste.

Our rate included a free in room move which we attempted to watch, but the system wouldn't work. We called down and they sent an engineer who couldn't fix the problem. Oh well. We did order room service after my disappointing dinner - a club sandwich and fries which arrived in 30 mins and was enjoyable.

We slept well that night and checked out around 7am. Within about 15 mins there was a very long queue to checkout so you can use express checkout if you wish - we couldn't as we had to hand our car keys in so were lucky to escape the rush.

I would not hesitate to stay here again and would recommend it to anyone looking for an extra comfortable, pleasant and convenient airport hotel.

Stopped here with my 2 grown up daughters for the night before setting off on a city break in Kracow. The check in process as usual was smooth and efficient, we were allocated a corner room on the 7th floor. Fantastic views and the room, well 3 massive windows affording the most fantastic views of the surrounding area.

We did not eat this time, however in the past the brasserie has been my restaurant of choice. We did use the bar and I was pleased to see that the prices were comparable to elsewhere now especially factoring in the table service.

The beds at the sofitel are dangerous, only in so much that you may find you are just too comfortable to get out of them, so make sure you set your TV alarm and a wake up call just in case especially if you are not a morning person. (I am so not a problem for us)

The room was clean and well presented as was the bathroom with a good selection of amenities, overall another glorious stay for us.

I personally would recommend the Sofitel to anyone, it's location is so ideal for both terminals and you avoid the hassel of transferring by taxi, or bus. It is worth the money for the peace of mind and lasck of hassle.

Stayed 1 night prior to early morning departure from South Terminal. Very impressed - easy access to south terminal via monorail. Room immaculate, excellent decor around hotel. Food good - ate in chinese restaurant. Only criticism was bar service could be slow and very pricey - but would definitely use again.
