“Poor transfer from airport”
Reviewed 8 March 2009

We stayed here the night before flying off on holiday as we thought it was easier to leave the cars in a safe enviroment. The hotel was ok, it was when we arrived back from holiday that we hit problems, we had been told to ring the hotel once we had collected our baggage and they would arrange a bus to pick us up. They new there was quite a few of us arriving at lunch time (10 adults, 2children and 20month old twins) but were told we had to wait 2hours 15 mins, this was totally unacceptable esspecially after already travelling for quite some time. We ended up having to pay £56 pounds on taxi's to get us back to the hotel. Dont stay here if you are expecting a quick pick up after your flight.

We stayed at the Arora for one night on 25th January 2009. After the short journey by train from London's Gatwick Airport to Crawley train station, we found our way through the back streets to the hotel. The hotel's website states that there is a direct link from the platform to the hotel, however this was not clearly visible, and as it happens there was a technical problem which meant the gate was locked anyway. Check-In was easy, with polite and friendly staff. Arrival in the room found that the requested cot for our 8mth old son was not present, however a quick call to housekeeping resulted in the bed being installed no more than 10minutes later. The hotels location in Crawley's town centre allows for access to shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants all within easy walking distance, so avoiding the need to spend money in either the airport or hotel restaurants should we of decided to stay at one of the airport hotels.
Hotels shuttle bus to the airport the next morning was far more convenient than the train, and a couple of pence cheaper for the three of us. Would certainly use this property again.

My wife and I have recently stayed in this hotel for one night because we had an early flight next day from Gatwick. The room was clean and spacious. Reception staff very helpful ( they have advised us about free hotel bus taking you straight to your terminal) .

Highly recommended!

We stayed here as a stop over before an early flight from Gatwick and had car parking included. Honestly cannot fault the hotel - service and staff excellent, rooms spacious and clean with a lovely bathroom and only a 5 minute walk into Crawley for something to eat/drink. The bus service to the airport runs every hour and they were very accomodating for our snowboards (has sometimes previously been a hassle). A great way to start your holiday.

Got a great deal on pre-flight hotel + 2 weeks carparking with APH. Arora not at Gatwick but in Crawley town so there's restaurants etc near by and the hotel is right next door to the train station. Excellent check in staff, good-sized room, great bathroom, very comfy and quiet very definitely a step up on the budget options. Efficient early morning check out. Top on all points, we will definitely use this hotel again next time we fly from Gatwick.

Me and a friend stayed here for one night as we had an early flight to Lapland the next morning.
Check in was smooth, we stayed in the West Wing of the hotel.
Room was brill as usual, the bathroom is lovely and we had a huge new rain style shower which we didnt have last time!
One thing that wasnt good was that we booked a Twin room but recieved a double. Didnt bother to complain.
And the other thing was that the room was very warm and our climate control panal on the wall didnt work. We only discovered this after unpacking so didnt ask to change rooms or anything.
We didnt use any of the facilities of the hotel, as we had such an early start (3.45am!)
One thing that I noticed was, around midnight our fire alarm started to go off. We werent sure whether it was a tester, or the real thing. We peeked pur heads round the door and other bleary eyed guests were comtemplating whether to leave their rooms as well!
There were no staff to usher us out of our rooms, the whole thing was quite unorganised. We all stood out side in our pjs for a good half hour in the cold.
Obviously, this doesnt fault the hotel for me as its only once in a blue moon that you have a fire alarm but it did disrupt our stay as we only ended up having 3 hours of sleep.

All went very smoothly. Good value room + parking deal - room a notch above the travel lodge with very nice bathroom.

We didn't spend long in the room though as we had an early start. The transfer to gatwick and pick up were both well organised and efficient.

Hotel restaurants didn't look that appealing on a cold monday night but reception directed us to the happy meeting chinese restaurant a very short taxi trip away which was good value.
