No issues what-so-ever with booking?
Excellent value if you can get a good deal on a 'Park & Stay'
My wife 'lost' our car park ticket at the airport on the way out to our holiday,
we contacted the reception at Arora, who said it would not be an issue on our return -
and this was the case, no issues in sorting it out.
We went into Crawley to eat, there is a good selection of restuarants and pubs.
Parking is within a secure 'covered' car park.
I will be staying here again.
We had a room on the 'quiet side' ie not facing the railway network.

I booked the hotel for the good value park and ride service to Gatwick airport. We arrived parked the car and checked in but were due to say on our return from holiday a week later. As the shuttle was full a taxi was called and we were taken to the airport at no additional charge.
When we got to the airport and dis coved that our travel agent had booked the holiday for 2010 we had a bit of a crisis. A new holiday was booked but from Heathrow the next day. I called the Arora, Kirsty the receptionist took my mobile number and arranged that we stay at the sister hotel at Heathrow at the same rate, sent the shuttle back and then printed directions to Heathrow for us. I call that service.
The Arora at Heathrow staff were also helpful, although the Gatwick hotel is nicer as it has outside seating area, access to a pool ad is close to restaurants and shops so if you have time to kill as we did its better than Heathrow , but if you want a bed a reasonable meal and speedy access to the airport this is a good choice. all for £99.00 room and parking.

We stayed at the Arora either side of our package holiday. On both occasions the hotel was clean, comfortable and in very good condition. Booking the room through the Saga website gave an extra 5% off normal Holiday Extras prices, so we paid £75.60 for the room for each night. The comfort, standard and quietness of the room plus the convenience for shopping in Crawley made it an excellent stopover hotel.

You can access the hotel directly from Platform 2 of Crawley railway station. There is a gate in the railings with a buzzer to the Hotel Reception who release the lock. An anytime single rail trip to Gatwick Airport costs £2.60 per person and the journey only takes about 10 minutes. The hotel bus costs £2.50 each and the first trip from hotel to airport leaves at 05.45 which was very convenient for our flight's check in time.

On our second night we stayed in the wing of the hotel and the bedrooms even had an extra tap for drinking water, which was a nice touch. There were also tea and coffee making facilites and a trouser press in the room, and an ice machine in the corridor.

The only negative comment I can make was on the price of drinks in the bar, which we thought were slightly expensive at £5.75 for a cider and a lemonade. We sat on the terrace by the fountain in the sunshine, and looked out at the park playing fields. There were loads of restaurants in Crawley so we did not have dinner in the hotel and our flights left too early in the morning to have breakfast so I cannot comment on the standard of the food.

We were very happy with the Arora and will definitely use this hotel again.

Having tried so many of the hotels in and around the Gatwick area I can say that in terms of facilities, this is up there with my personal favourites, the Hilton and Sofitel. This hotel doesn't have that direct access that makes the aforementioned so desirable, though it doesn't get much easier. You can access this hotel from the far end of the platform at Crawley station - a mere 10 minute ride from Gatwick Airport.

The rooms were bright and airy. Contemporary, but understated. The bathroom was roomy with a fab shower with separate bath. I didn't suffer from any noise either. The foot traffic outside your room associated with airport hotels as people make their way to their early flights may have been there, but I certainly didn't hear anything and slept soundly.

Slight annoyances? A couple. There didn't appear to be any express check out option. and the fact that you needed an escort back onto the train station. I only realised this as I got close to the platform meaning I had to get back in the queue at reception again!

I will definitely stay here again. Truly impressed.

I'm really meticulous when it comes to reading hotel reviews, and having gotten a good price for what I thought to be a four-star hotel proceeded to book a night there at a good price.

The good:

Location-wise, it's not too far from the airport. It wasn't more than a ten-minute ride, and for a good price considering there was only two of us in the (eight-seater?)shuttle for a modest 5 pounds. It seemed to be a bit on the outskirts of Crawley though, and talthough we did not explore the area, the trip there indicated that dining / breakfast would be limited to the hotel area.

The rooms are neat with a nice lay-out. Small but fully-working televisions, not flatscreen. The bathrooms had both a shower and a bathtub, depending on preference and complimentary soaps, shampoos and bath-gel were provided.

Their is a bistro/sportsbar/dinner area. The sports bar was as any other sports bar might be, pretty standard, we did not use the dining area due to previous feedback on the quality of food there, but the bistro was nice for relaxing with a drink and a substantial bite to eat at a good price. There was also a mini-mart that was open till at least 10 PM which was well-stocked with everything one might need last-minute, everything from toothpaste to noodles, with very friendly staff.

The bad:
Our shuttle reservation for the return-trip to the airport was not booked correctly. On arriving at the reception with our bags packed, we found out that we were booked on a shuttle that left an hour later than we had been planning to leave, even though we had repeated the time we wanted to leave several times to the evening staff. The morning staff, however, was kind enough to clear up the mix-up and as there was space we were allowed to travel on the "earlier" shuttle. We did get the last two spots however, so it seemed pure luck that we didn't have to pay for a taxi.

The cleanliness - to the naked eye the room seemed clean and tidy enough, but a collection of bugs in the window - behind the curtain made one wonder exactly what else had been cleaned hap-hazardly.

The trains: Outside our window there were train tracks, and the sound of the traina passing was quite noticeable. But if not a light sleeper and just overnighting rather than spending the day at the hotel, this should not be a problem.
---

All in all a perfectly fine hotel if your aim is to spend the night before a flight, but if your priority is accessibility to the airport I'd just as easily recommend yotel at Gatwick, with its tiny but very functional and cosy rooms, or Sofitel which is just meters away from the airport.

After arriving at the hole known as Russ Hill i quickly cancelled my booking and found the Arora. Very modern and comfortable rooms. My only moan is the site restaurant which is over priced for what it is but thats just hotels.
I used the gatwick shuttle service arriving back in the UK at 0400 on the saturday. When i phoned the hotel to ask for the pick up i was disappointed when they said the shuttle does not start until 0615..... The next sentence made my day ' we will book you a taxi and pay the difference'.

We booked this hotel through Superbreak after reading reviews on here... We got the room (triple) and 15 days on site parking for £109 and what a bargin it was!...

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful even wanting to help you unload your car!.. I can't comment on hotel food as we ate in Crawley for the one night we were there.

We had an early flight and booked a wake up call for 4.00am which was fine and the hotel also booked us a taxi which was on time and cost us £10.

The taxi driver even commented how nice this hotel was and was amazed at the price we paid, he thinks it is the best in the area! I also noticed that Emirates Airways use this hotel for their pilots and staff.

Overall I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone!
