I work for the airline, this is our crew layover hotel. My first time to LGW. I was slightly impressed with the hotel lobby, open, contemporary and very spacious. I was not impressed with the bland rooms. I was on an upper floor and stayed cold. I cranked up the heat, but still was chilly. There are no bigger blankets in the room, just the thin throw on the bed. Also, if you're used to bathing with a washcloth, better pack your own!

We stayed at this hotel the night before we flew out on our holiday. The hotel was ok but the room was not quiet as clean as i like and the bathroom had a very weird smell which i still dont know to this day what it was. It is a very quiet hotel at night but just not what i would stay in just before i go on my proper holiday. Bit of a let down when you see it from the outside.

We booked this hotel with 15 nights car parking the night before we flew out to Mexico on our honeymoon. It was one of the cheapest hotels online for us and we were really impressed with it. Not only did it look very contemporary from the outside, the room was very clean and comfortable and it was positioned 10 minutes from where we had to leave the car. For a 6am flight it was great for what we needed and ensured we were stress free for our flight.

I booked this hotel as we required one night's accommodation near Gatwick airport before an early flight out. From Gatwick airport to the hotel it cost us about £25 in a cab.
Check in was frustrating, long and filled with unnecessary questions. Probably the worst check in experience throughout my entire trip.
There is a pub on location as well as a cafe and a snazzy restaurant. Down the road is a small shopping centre.
We took the free hotel shuttle bus on the way back to Gatwick airport, which was probably the best thing the hotel had to offer.

Stayed here before flying from gatwick.booked through holiday extras which included 2 course meal and parking at nearby Airparks. Hotel is lovely, bed is a little soft as stated previously but no issue. Food was good and happy to recommend. Only issue was gym/spa changing lockers...they don't lock!! You need a BIG padlock which when I asked at the gym reception they looked totally disinterested and said they don't provide them and looked at me like I'd asked a really outlandish question! It perhaps would have been helpful for reception after asking whether we had stayed before to which we replied "no" to have then followed it up with some information!!! However no way near as bad as previous reviews. Would def stay again

I'm a regular guest at the Arora in Crawley and the hotel itself is by far the best in the area. Lovely public areas, good sized clean rooms and good value but and its a huge but the hotel is let down by some of the worst reception staff I've ever come across.
For me its a basic requirment from reception staff to welcome guests at check in and enquire if they had a nice stay at check out. Anything above that is a going the extra mile but 9 time out of ten at the Arora you are lucky to get more than a grunted request for your name and credit card. My last stay however has gone one step 'better' with a member of reception staff arguing with me and being extermely rude when I pointed out an error on the bill. Being shouted at infront of other guest is not exactly the way to gain repeat business so sadly for me for the time being I shall be looking at other hotel options in the area. Hopefully if the Arora can improve their reception staff customer service I will return but as impression of a hotel tend to be based on the front desk there is a lot of work to be done here.
