We stayed here in June 2014,on recommendations from a friend. We stayed in a room facing the car park. It was small and the decor a little dated. We ate in the conservatory and I have to say the food was excellent. The waitress and the gentleman who cooked were very friendly and the grounds were beautiful. Wenenjoyed a drink outside. I had not realised we were on the flight path and the noise from the planes became a little much after a while as the planes were so low. We were returning to our room to get money to settle the bill and the lady at reception reminded us that the bill needed to be settled before we went to bed. I felt this was rather rude and it certainly stopped us from returning to the bar to have a further drink.
Unfortunately, I will not be returning to this hotel again as I had expected it to be welcoming and this lady just spoilt the whole experience for us.

Myself and my partner stayed overnight before a early morning flight from Gatwick. What a pleasant hotel this is. The room which was facing the car park was a good size and nice and clean. We had a fantastic evening meal in the conservatory, and we even managed to see a deer roaming around. The only complaint my partner had was the lack of choice of beers, but that is a minor point.
We left before breakfast was served but we could have had a breakfast bag made up for us which we did decline but that is a nice thought.
We enjoyed watching the planes go over as this hotel is right under the flight path, they are so low you can almost see the pilot, if you wish for a very early night this may be a problem if you are a light sleeper.
All in all we had a pleasant stay. All the staff were very friendly and if we fly from Gatwick again we will use it again

We stayed here in late May 2014 as an overnight stay prior to flying from Gatwick. Unfortunately, the night we drove up from South Wales after work the weather was dreadful, torrential rain and an accident on M25 delayed our journey. We had to take a protracted route which delayed our arrival by over an hour, therefore, I called the hotel on route to tell them about our late ETA. The lady I spoke to on the phone was rather dismissive, I had hoped to ask them to make up some sandwiches for us as we had missed dinner (which is what I had been told when I made the booking) but that was not an option, and was told that we had to be there for 10pm as they closed up for the night. We were still miles away and it was already gone 9pm. When we did eventually arrive at just gone 10pm, as did another couple who had been caught in the traffic chaos, the lady at reception was really rude, complaining at how late we were all checking in as they were supposed to be closed at 10pm, and rushed through the checking in process at the speed of light! The room was clean and adequate for our needs, but found it very difficult to dry our saturated clothing from crossing the car park. Breakfast was very good and the staff in the morning were lovely, so different from the lady the night before.
As an airport hotel it was OK, but I wouldn't stay there again in case we hit the same traffic problems, as we often do travelling to Gatwick from S.Wales, I wouldn't have the confidence to gain entry late at night. It's a pity that one person spoiled the experience, but it's put us right off from staying there again.

What a great little find, perfect place to stay before your flight. A very friendly accommodating place, with lovely food and staff. Our parking, Taxi to and from Gatwick was organised for us. Will definitely stay again, either before flying or for a lovely weekend.

We stayed here for 1 night before flying , we had room 2 which was very nice, looking out onto the garden where we saw the deers roaming around.
We had a evening meal which we both really enjoyed,we left early so didnt have time for breakfast.
We had a taxi pick us up for the airport which was £10 and when we landed back in gatwick we just had to give them a call to come and pick us up to take us back to hotel to collect our car,all very straight forward to which the hotel arranged.
Will be using the hotel again.
As it happened when we got back our car tyre had a slow puncture to which the hotel staff had made sure it was pumped ready for us.

Room Tip: It is no smoking hotel,so if you smoke ask for room 1 or 2 as they are right by front door, so easy...

We stayed here before going on holiday to Gatwick, and were very happy with the experience. We stayed in Room 1, and it was nicely furnished, although the bathroom could do with bringing up to the same standard - but not bad.

We only slept at the hotel, no meals or anything - room 1 is right by reception and you can hear everything, so maybe not for light sleepers (someone called reception at 3am, not the hotel's fault but woke me up immediately).

The parking, taxi pick up and drop off all worked very well indeed and we were pleased to not have any issues on our return.

I would definitely stay here again, it's good value compared to the airport hotels and took the stress out of parking and lugging bags around the morning we were flying.

Room Tip: Room 1 is nicely kitted out but may be a bit noisy for some as so close to reception.

We have stayed at Waterhall several times over the last few years (apologies to the hotel for not posting a review before!!). It's great to be able to drive down from South Wales and leave the car for a very reasonable price. Back from holiday we stayed one night in the hotel. Lovely meal on arrival and a cooked breakfast before setting off back home. The staff are always friendly and we would recommend Waterhall to anyone looking to leave their car whilst using Gatwick.
