“Good breakfast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 February 2014

I have eaten here often and the carvery is always good value but yesterday we came here for breakfast. In the week it ends at 11am so we were quite late arriving ,about 10-15 and half expected the food to be running out. This was not the case. The welcome was warm , the food plentiful and still being replenished. The choice was good and well cooked, in fact one of the nicest breakfasts I have had in this area. Will definitely be going here again .....a real find.

“Great food, good value”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 January 2014

Had a superb roast meal here. Group of 18, which the staff accomodated really well. Huge portions of roast meal, very good value. lots of choices of meat and vegetables. drinks and puddings reasonably priced. ideal option to the hotel restaurant.

“Great meal”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 October 2013

Stayed in a hotel just up the road prior to catching an early morning flight and decided to have an evening meal here as opposed to paying inflated hotel prices. It turned out to be a good decision. Met by polite staff who explained we would have a fifteen minute wait for a table. We were given a bleeper which alerted us when our table was ready. This was a great idea as I have been to other Tobys where when your table is ready staff just shout out your name which does not create a good atmosphere or dinning experience.

We had a ten to fifteen minute wait while some meats were being cooked, this being the only small downside to the meal. Great tasting food with a good selection of vegetables that were being replenished all the time which ensured they were freshly cooked. The waitress was very nice even replenishing our refillable soft drinks saving us jumping up & down during the meal.

We would recommend this carvery to anyone as we found the food to be good & also great value.

“More food than we could eat”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 October 2013

Good quality carvery with a fair waiting system. You can choose between turkey beef ham and pork some had more than one meat. Veg bit soggy but difficult to keep firm with mass catering. £20 for main pud and round of drinks for two. Would use again.

“Pretty good food, need more staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 September 2013

We returned from our two week holiday abroad and I really fancied a roast but didn't fancy cooking it. We popped into The Barn to fulfil that need and found it to be extremely busy. It was a bank holiday so that may not have helped but we were concerned that it would be a long wait before getting a table. However, it was only a 10 minute wait in the end. The service was friendly once we were seated but they appeared to be rushed off their feet, so I would suggest they need more staff. We had to go and find someone so we could get the bill after waiting too long for someone to come over. The food was pretty good, as you would expect from a Toby carvery. Lots of selection and good portions of meat. The yorkies could be better, a bit limp and not very crispy. Overall though, somewhere I would visit again when in need of a roast.
