“Thoroughly excellent, cannot fault it”
Reviewed 12 July 2013 via mobile

We booked this hotel about 3 weeks prior to arrival. We paid just £44. The hotel itself is just opposite the departures for north terminal and the monorail stop. Regardless of what terminal you are flying from this is absolutely in an ideal location.

The hotel is brand new. Self service check in with plenty of staff to help should you require it, a member of staff is there to greet you on arrival. There seem to be an abundance of staff. The room was excellent, clean, spacious, enough towels for the number of guests, I can't I imagine wanting anything more than what was offered.

Others have mentioned the need to book a meal. This is definitely the case unless, like us, you eat late. After 9pm you are fine to get a table. The restaurant is enormous, the menu is massive and the prices both for food and drink is exceptionally reasonable (anyone who has ever stayed at the Sofitel or Hilton will know how ridiculously priced everything is once there.) We had a couple of issues over dinner. My garlic bread was so hard you couldn't actually cut through it never ins eat it. This was swiftly replaced with no quibble. Our bill had an extra pint of lager on which we had ordered but unfortunately never received. Again this was taken off without a fuss. I thought the food, quality, staff and service was brilliant.

We did not eat breakfast. If you don't have children I think personally it's expensive. If you do have children obviously the price continues to come down but we had an early start and getting up any earlier for breakfast was not in my plans. We had a great sleep, the bed is huge, the hotel was quiet. Will definitely be returning, especially at these prices. The best Premier Inn I've stayed in.

Brilliant new hotel at Gatwick North. The hotel is clean, quiet, has a good bar and restaurant and the meal deal they offer is extremely good value. Best of all it takes five minutes to walk to the terminal in a leisurely unhurried manner. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and very quiet. We heard no noise whatsoever when we stayed here. The only criticism I have of the hotel was trying to get to the reception area by lift. The lifts take an extremely long time to come to the ground floor foyer. The staff are all young and cheerful.

I would definitely stay here again. It certainly beats the stress driving to the airport on the day of your flight around the M25/M23. You just get up, shower, breakfast, walk to terminal and you are on your way. Its like starting your holiday a day earlier. Fantastic hotel and a very good standard.

Thank you for your review of Premier Inn London Gatwick Airport North Terminal.

I am delighted that you found the hotel to be a very good standard with a good bar and Thyme restaurant in which you found the meal deal to be extremely good value.

I would like to thank you for your feedback on the lifts. It is only through this feedback that we can try and resolve these things.

I had never stayed in a Premier Inn so had no preconceived ideas as to what to expect. This hotel is new modern and large with about 650 rooms.
I would have expected it to be a bit soul less but was surprised by fantastic receptionists and generally extremely pleasant staff. The hotel was new and smart and the room was absolutely fine and a bit better than would expect from a budget hotel. Better than Ibis worse than Novotel in my mental positioning. Obviously you stay in this hotel because of the airport and as it is in the middle of the airport it is hard to fault. Will stay here again. Cost £ 105.00 with no extras and was booked at short notice.

We had an early morning long haul flight from Gatwick so we decided to fly down from Glasgow the night before to avoid delay and reduce tiredness, we spent the night here at the Premier Inn and it did the job, the location is directly outside the terminal building (30sec Walk) check in was easy and the room while being basic was spacious clean and everything you want to get your head down, we had not booked breakfast as we were not sure on time available but on the morning we got up we asked reception and it was a simple case of paying cash at the restaurant (Turned out cheaper than the airport anyway) we paid £45 for the room breakfast extra and it was the best decision we made.

For convenience this hotel has it all. Modern, clean and right the opposite the main escalator into Gatwick North. And I mean a few easy steps away even whilst pulling luggage in the rain as we did. Wish I'd taken a photo of how close it was. We paid the cheapest prepaid rate of £45 for the room. You can't amend the date at this price. We paid an additional £45 for dinner and breakfast for two at the time of booking. There was nowhere else nearby to have dinner anyway and it was very good value. We checked in online the day before travelling and got the room key from a machine in reception. Comfortable room. 30 minutes free WiFi. The prepaid dinner and breakfast was very good value.

Much better than the other, older Premier Inn at Gatwick. Very warm welcome by lovely young lady in reception. Staff 100% better, rooms modern, cleaner and quieter, lovely Costa on site with restaurant and bars. No parking on site but does not matter. As we were flying the next day we put the car straight in the pre-booked long stay car park, got the bus straight to the hotel (cheaper than paying for one night in short stay) then on our return, got the bus straight back to long stay car park. Very easy, no problems. Will book for next year.

Room Tip: All rooms are lovely

Great service when you arrive to book in, very quick. Again not disappointed with the quality of the rooms. Very clean, large bed, quiet, great location for an early start from the North Terminal. One gripe though, if you want to eat in the restaurant and you are not arriving to after 7.30pm try and book a table ahead of arriving, otherwise you could have a least an hours wait. We decided to try and get a meal in the terminal and that is for another review, so beware.
