My daughter had stayed before and recommended it - she was quite right; very comfortable accommodation and a place to eat in excellent location. Although I absolutely love booking.com and usually use that site to book hotels everywhere - this time I booked directly with the hotel and got a better rate.

Dear GallopingGranny27,

Firstly, top marks for the most amusing profile name I've had to type yet!

Thank you very much for your review of our hotel. Not only is it wonderful to read that we were recommended to you by your daughter, but that you agreed with her recommendation. This is why it's so important for us to make sure that every guest leaves happy. We don't always get it right, but we try.

Whilst we can't deny the power of booking agents at bringing hotel rooms to people, you'll always find our best rate available on our own website. This is because if you book direct with us, we don't have to pay the booking agent commission. This is also why if you join our loyalty scheme, Hhonors, you can only collect points by booking direct with us.

I really hope that we see you again

Kind Regards

Jeremy Muscat

Reasonably sized rooms, well fitted out with good ensuite. Quiet location in spite of being right on the airport.
Poor menu for evening meal. But as an option it is an easy walk to the Sofitel for more choice or take the shuttle train to the South Terminal and the Hilton.
Acceptable breakfasts.
It was a bit of a pain working the lifts with your room key card. Most people struggled to get the lift to work.

Dear Tripper Southampton,

Sorry that you didn't like our menu. As I've stated on an earlier review, we are in the process of putting our next menu together and we're really excited about launching it in the coming month or so. Maybe if you stay with us again, there will be something that you'd enjoy more?

The keycard is required to operate the lift to prevent non-guests from walking around the floors near the bedrooms. I'm sure you'll agree that this is a great security feature that you don't find in many hotels. I do understand though that if you aren't familiar with this process, it can be confusing the first few times you use it.

I do hope that we can welcome you back soon.

Kind Regards

Jeremy Muscat

We stayed here on the 3rd of April night before our flight, hotel joins onto the airport which makes everything so easy we parked in the long stay carpet was so easy to get to hotel. Check in was quick and easy. Rooms very clean, just what we needed for a 1 night stay. Rooms are spacious, good nights sleep. Bar close to hotel for food and drink. Next morning was so stress free just check out handed over keycard went to next floor and we were at check in for flight. Definitely recommend this hotel for stress free travelling.

Dear Danielle M,

Thanks for taking the time to write a review of your stay with us. I was delighted to see the 5* you gave us, that you liked our carpet (!), and you generally found the hotel to be just what you needed for your overnight stay.

It's our aim to take the stress out of a pre-flight stay and I thank you very much for your recommendation.

See you again soon

Kind Regards

Due to an early morning flight we booked a room for the night before to make our travel more relaxing. It was definitely worth it. The hotel is conveniently linked to the North Terminal and takes two minutes to get from the hotel to the check in desks on foot.

Check in was efficient and we were in our room within minutes of arriving. We booked a triple which was comfortable but on the small size. This did not bother us as we were not planning on spending any time in the room other than for sleeping. It was clean and had a decent sized shower room/WC, including complimentary shower gel/shampoo on tap. The room also had tea/coffee making facilities.

Where the hotel lacks, is dining options. There is a bar which is open during the day but no food was served. We ended up walking across to the Sofitel which had numerous dining options to choose from.

Breakfast (buffet) is served from five in the morning but no hot options are available until six. I must be the only person who thinks most people wanting to spend the night at an airport hotel would be catching early morning flights and therefore would welcome a hot breakfast as early as possible. There were pastries and breads available along with cereal, hot drinks machines and an orange juice maker. One of the machines was out of order when we were there between 5:30-06:00 and a member of staff only appeared once for two seconds to bring in some clean plates.

An overall good experience and I would not hesitate to book it again if I had a very early morning departure from the North Terminal.

Dear PhillipP,

I was really pleased that someone of your travelling experience found their experience to be good overall. You're one of many to point out how convenient our location is and it's great that you found the check in and room to be of the standard you expected.

It's true that Hampton don't set out to provide what I would call a 'destination restaurant'. Our bar serves food from 4pm to 10pm and we have a 24hr menu for our early arrivals and late check-ins, but the menu isn't large. We think there is something for everyone on there, and we are looking at updating our menu and adding some equipment to our kitchen to improve service times and variety.

As a Hampton, we should provide free breakfast from 6am to 10am, however due to our location, we thought it would be a good idea to make the continental breakfast available from 5am. Because of cost limitations in providing the additional hour of service times, we aren't able to staff the breakfast room and most guests understand that this is a 'bonus' availability and aren't looking for the same level of staffing we provide during 'normal' service times.

I am really happy that you will book again with us and we look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Kind Regards

Jeremy Muscat

Nice room, able to walk to Terminal , car parking packages and decent buffet breakfast.
If you stay the night before you fly, you can take the free Terminal Shuttle to the South for more dining options.
