“Reasonable hotel, good parking facilities, bed not so good”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

Reasonable hotel near to Gatwick, good parking arrangements and efficient arrangement with taxi company. Nice cooked breakfast (standard breakfast seems a bit basic so worth the extra for cooked). The main issue was the bed - mattress very uncomfortable, so not a good night's sleep.

Excellent hotel, very close to the airport, good value for money and we would definitely use it again. Everything was run very smoothly and all instructions we were given were concise and easy to follow. We would like to thank the female receptionist (unfortunately we forgot to ask her name) who gave excellent service before our holiday and especially when we arrived back. When we returned from holiday were really cold (after waiting for a taxi for about 35 minutes) so she very kindly offered to make us a cup of tea which was very welcome and warmed us up before our long journey up north!

Thanks again!!

We stopped here for one night before our flight and had 2 weeks car parking for a very reasonable price. Overall we were very satisfied and will definately use Little foxes again.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful and an asset to the place. Absolutely no problems here whatsoever.

The location is fabulous, almost in the middle of nowhere but still close enough to motorways and the airport be convenient. We did hear a few flights but despite what some might say the flight noise is NEVER all night (check the live arrivals and departures on Gatwick website) and it is actually quite exciting and novel to hear the aircraft the night before your holiday! cheer up folks you're on your holiday!

The room was clean, tidy and had everything you need for an overnight stay including en-suite, fluffy towels, warm room, tea & coffee, a TV etc etc. The only problems I found was the beds were a little too firm for my taste (you cant please everyone all of the time!) and our room was right next to the staircase and was very noisy when someone insisted on running up and down them late at night and then some new arrivals were dragging their suitcases up the stairs at daft O'clock which woke us up. Also the late arrival and endless chattering of the couple in the next room also kept us awake til quite late too. These problems however were not the fault of the Hotel. Next time I would just request a different room - you live and learn!

Car parking - No problems yet again! left car keys in the room upon departure at 5am, then locked room door and posted room keys in he secured box in reception NOT left the keys on the reception desk... Upon return two weeks later at 9 am a very friendly member of staff was there to greet us who handed us our keys and told us where to find our car. Simple, uncomplicated, quick, hassle free.

The taxi service going was on time and spot on, coming home it was a little more complicated. They took approx 25 mins to arrive, which isnt too much of a problem, but when the car pulled up I received a text confirming the make, model, colour and reg. I approached the car before the driver had even finished with his previous fare. When the previous fare was still getting out of the car the driver was beckoning another couple to him as if he reckognised them! I intervened telling him that we are his fare, not the other couple and had to show him my text message to prove it! I very nearly lost my taxi after waiting 25 mins in freezing temperatures after 2 weeks in a tropical climate and 10 hours of flight to some other random couple! Not impressed... My advice is simply to keep alert to all United Cars arriving to prevent any upset and question all of the drivers whether someone else gets in or not! We could have lost our cab if I hadnt challenged the driver. I know I would have been able to request another one but you just dont need the hassle afer a long journey.

As far as the taxi fares are concerned, it would have been nicer if the fare was included in the room rate as we almost forgot to save the money for the return trip (our fault completely 100%) However, it would have been one less thing to have to think about and would also prevent worries about drivers attempting to overcharge etc.

Would I stop again and use the parking facility? Definately!

Thank you Little Foxes, youre doing it right! ;-)

Room Tip: Room 2 is on the ground floor but right next to the stairs which can be a bit noisy.

We have stayed at the Little Foxes twice now prior to early morning flights from Gatwick and love this cosy little hotel with friendly & welcoming staff.
The rooms are neat with comfortable beds, hairdryer and kettle with tea & coffee.
The arrangements they have in place to drop & collect you from the airport are seamless and they have a good relationship with a local taxi company.
They have recently extended the hours the reception is manned for and serve breakfast if requested and for an evening meal they offer a discount at the Ilfield Court Hotel or there are several other restaurants a short distance away.
We would definitely stay here again :-)

As most people a stop here before going to Gatwick. Very good price for the stay and parking. It looked lovely upon arrival, the staff were friendly and the room was ideal for a quick stay. Very clean, comfy and hot drinks. Taxi booked by staff and worked well. Highly recommended.

We parked our car here for a week and stayed overnight on our return. Everything worked really well apart from the taxi firm on our return seemed reluctant to answer the phone. They still turned up promptly but it a bit disconcerting when it's past midnight and you're tired from your journey.

The staff at the hotel were efficient and friendly. The room was absoulutely fine, clean if a little dated with super comfy beds. The hotel is really close to the airport so transfer times by taxi are really quick, no waiting for a bus and having to make multiple stops. The downside to this is the noise of flights taking off from 6.00am but we were keen to get home so it didn't bother us.

I thought the Little Foxes was excellent value and we would definitely use again and would have no hesitation in recommending to those who don't want 5* luxury for 3* prices.
