Went for their Sunday buffet & no complaints, however, the takeaway was probably the worst I have had. Horrible flat, leathery naan which they insisted was traditional, threw it away, orange chicken tikka masala with raisins in it, managed half of that then threw it away. Just awful.

Thank you for feedback and I am glad you were happy with the buffet food . You mentioned that you were not satisfied with the takeaway, and in particular the nan bread which you say was flat and leathery. Please note that the nan bread when eaten straight away will taste different to when you have it as a takeaway. The nan when put in the foil bag as a takeaway will not keep as crunchy and fresh as when eaten in the restaurant. As for the chicken tikka masala, each restaurant has it own recipe in producing this dish and we have always for the last 25 years have been putting raisins init. As for the orange colour you mentioned, I can guarantee you that our food is 100% free from artificial additives and colourings. We do not add any colours, our food colour comes from the natural spices . We regularly run cookery classes and we get people to produce excellent quality food with out the use of any food colourings.

Zari looks like an average take-away joint from the outside which means that you are in for a pleasant shock on your first visit... it is like the tardis inside.

The food always exceeds expectation, fabulous quality and an amazing choice. Not the place to go for a cheap curry but if you appreciate good food at a reasonable price it always hits the spot.

The manager is invariably there and takes a personal interest in all customers, he will give you a full run-down on each dish and encourages you to see the kitchen - which is on display - and see how all sauces are made from scratch.

Definitely the place for serious curry lovers, you won't get a better one south of Brick Lane..

Lovely food and great service.
May not be the cheapest around but worth the extra money.
They also do take aways.
