An ugly hotel from the outside that portrays itself as being a Gatwick hotel - it is full of people using Gatwick but is many miles away - about £15 in a taxi, or a tortuous wait for a bus.
Busy with slow reception, but friendly staff. Rooms renovated and quite good with air con - vary in size, ours was spacious but we saw some very small ones along the corridor.
About a mile from Crawley itself - good 20 min walk - barely worth the effort, but there are a few quite nice pubs in the old high street - early on - by the sight of bouncers and people coming into town maybe being a mile away is a good idea.
Big pain is the lifts at the hotel - 2 very small and 1 ok all with a mind of their own - very slow and hogged by staff with trollies. Took an unbelievable 10 mins to get to reception at 7am! First one with room in got in - went up two floors and stopped every floor on the way down.
Only positive was the price at £58 - add on £30 for taxis it would have been cheaper to stay at the airport proper!More
