“Perfect location for Gatwick Airport”
Reviewed 16 October 2009

A nice swimming pool. A short distance to Gatwick Airport, cheap parking with room.

Really convenient with helpful friendly staff.

We booked this hotel through the Superbreaks, mystery hotel deal, and what a great hotel for the bargain price of £19.50 each for one. This was room only, but still a great deal. We found the hotel to be very modern and the staff on the desk welcoming and helpful. Our room was lovely with modern furniture and an bright, clean bathroom. As it was late when we arrived and we had a morning flight, we decided to just have a snack at the bar before bedtime so we couldn't comment on the restaurant, but several guests were eating there. Do to the great price we'd got hotel for, the 'snack' was more expensive than the room, but so what, we enjoyed the soup and sandwich we ordered. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was appreciated before our long flight. We got up early to catch the shuttle for the airport and was told by staff, that the shuttle runs more frequently in the day. We did take notice of the shuttle times as the night before, we had waited 40 minutes from the train station which is adjacent to the airport, for a shuttle to the hotel, so please note if you have a night flight, don't rely on the shuttle too much, give it plenty of time, also the shuttle does take approx 15-20 mins. We had an quick checkout and we would certainly recommend this hotel.

A good place to stay before flying out of Gatwick; but hard to find if you aren't familiar with the area. Rooms are spacious and well equipped, but the Internet is extra and don't expect help with luggage in or out! But the price was right, the front desk checkin exemplary and so helpful (by a trainee, according to her nametag), the shower very good, the pub part of the resturant complex fine, with reasonably priced food and drink for a hotel. Breakfast was also OK, and the shuttle to the airport (25 minutes) was on time. But getting from the shuttle to check-in at Gatwick is a challenge, particularly for older folks like us, and no help is available.

Arrived tired on Monday evening for just one night prior to flying out next morning. Shown to room 222 and soon discovered the horribly cracked washbasin - so badly cracked that theplug didn't fit - and obviously not a new crack if the brown stains were any clue. Rang reception who weren't surprised and moved us to another room. The plug didn't fit properly here either but we weren't moving again and stayed though we had to ring down for towels. We had intended to eat here but feared that the same malaise which affected maintainence and housekeeping might have crept into the restaurant so we ate out. The breakfast was OK but then at £17 it should be. The photo's on their website are very flattering.

We booked one night at the Crowne Plaza for early check in at Gatwick the next morning, we also left our car there for 10 days and got a good deal from Holiday Extras for £99. Although check in was a bit slow the hotel is in an ideal location for the airport and we only had to wait 10 minutes either end for the bus to and from. The rooms are small but modern, clean and comfortable and ideal for a one night stay. We ordered room service for dinner, as expected with most hotels like this it was a bit expensive but was quickly delivered, hot and plenty of good quality food. Would definately book here in future.

I have stayed at Crowne Plaza Hotel Gatwick, Crawley a few times now as an overnight hotel before departing for Holiday from London Gatwick Airport. I have stayed in other 'airport hotels' but none come near in comparison especially now that the Crowne Plaza have introduced their 'Club Rooms'.
The standard rooms are clean, spacious with all the facilities required for an overnight stay or longer.
The 'Club' rooms are in a league of their own. Your have to use your room key to enter the exclusive 'Club' area where the 'Club' Rooms are on each floor, the one I stayed in had bathrobes, a King Size Bed, wi-fi and internet connection, tea and coffee making facilities, a large flat screen tv but the best was in the bathroom, there was a seperate large shower and bath tub and at the end of the bath was another flat screen tv!! Pure luxury!! If you pay the extra for the 'Club' rooms you also have exclusive access to the Club Room on the ground floor, accessed by using your room key, you have free tea and coffee throughout your stay and also for 2 hours in the evening you have free wine, bottled lager and soft drinks with hors d'euvers and fruit available. This room also has a few flat screen tv's in different segregated areas so that Club guests can watch different tv programmes. It is a nice quiet area to enjoy. They also have a fabulous restaurant, bar and even a swimming pool for you to use if you so wish and parking for your stay which you can also use if you are jetting off on holiday and collect your car on your return. I will not stay at any other 'airport hotel' now as any other would find it hard to come up to a similar standard for the cost,

Stayed here for one night (Sunday) prior to jetting off in the morning for a holiday from Gatwick. Lovely hotel. Got a good deal direct with the hotel website as a Priority Club member - better than the holiday extra sites also. Got a Club Level room for under 60 pounds which included breakfast and free parking.

Nice looking hotel on the inside (doesn't look up to much from the outside though!). Great spacious and very modern room (club room) with fab bathroom with separate shower and bath. Large and comfy beds, Bose sound system, flat screen TV, ion hairdryer (!). Clarins toiletries were a nice touch.

Hotel lobby is smart with a nice bar and restaurant serving London priced food (steak about 22 pounds, but very very good). Only thing that wasn't so good was the pool area. Looked a bit shabby, lots of noisy children and overlooked by the bar so we gave it a miss and enjoyed the bar instead!

Would recommend the upgrade to club rooms as the parking was free and that in itself is almost 10 pounds for 24 hours. Would def do it again.
