We hadn't visited Spice Valley for two years or more - so it was great to find that the high standards of old have been fully maintained. My partner and I plus my two grown-up daughters booked on a whim this Sunday evening and were pleasantly surprised to see the restaurant quite busy, with a high proportion of customers being of sub-Continental origin. The menu is a bit different from before but still includes the old favourites and, most importantly, a wide range of vegetarian dishes. We decided to dine on a variety of "starters", mostly veggie items but with some chicken tikka and prawns for the omnivores amongst us plus a large bowl of channa masala and excellent chapati. The several dishes built around paneer were especially appreciated but it was noticeable that each dish had its own individual flavour personality, not always the case in high-street "Indian" restaurants. I believe the building now housing Spice Valley started life as a Fatty Arbuckle's or suchlike. Hard to imagine a bigger contrast. We'll be back very soon.
