We stayed at ingleside for two and a half weeks whilst our house was being repaired and to say it was an home from home was an understatement. Originally we stayed in an hotel but hated it. The Ingleside was spotless and the rooms a goods size. Every amenity is available and if required the owner will make you breakfast. The garden is fantastic which we enjoyed during the great weather. The owner is simply amazing and takes a great deal of pride in her business.

We spent two nights at Ingleside House and our son one night. We were really well looked after, rooms were comfortable, breakfast was was what ever you wanted and Christine was always on hand. Our room overlooked the large garden and had far reaching views over farmland. There was plenty of off road parking which was covered by CCTV. We would definitely stay there again!

My two sisters and I just returned from a 6 night stay at Ingleside House. Christine was the perfect hostess, cooking a delicious breakfast each morning and providing a comfortable and clean room. We stayed in the red room and had a balcony with a beautiful view of the expansive English countryside. The beds were very comfortable and we looked forward to coming "home" after a long day of touring. The inn is situated in the small village of Lostock. If you are a tourist in the area, here is the train info: the nearest large train station is Bolton, which is about a 15-20 minute drive from the inn. There is also a village train station at Lostock which is an easy 10-15 min walk from the inn. The Lostock station is small, so there are fewer trains there on the weekends, etc, so check the train schedules ahead of time. The train employees at the Lostock station can help you by pulling up train schedules for you. Day trips from the inn that are worthwhile are Chester, York, and the Lake District of Cumbria (specificallly, Windermere (for a boat ride on the lake) and Kendal (shopping and good restaurants).)

If you stay at Ingleside, be sure to walk down to The Duke of Wellington pub for a pint or glass of wine. Allen the proprietor is friendly and glad to give advice about the area. This pub does not serve food (so eat first :))!

A lovely place in the English countryside...perfect if you want to come back to quiet and comfort after long days of sightseeing or being in the city!

Booking and communication with Christine excellent and very easy. After a long drive we were very happy to see a welcoming smile and a pleasing hostess at the accommodation. Christine showed us to our rooms and ensured before leaving us we had anything we required for our stay. The location of both rooms afforded pleasant country views and rooms nice and spacious, beds big and comfy and tea/coffee making facilities. The beds affording us all a great and well earned nights sleep and left us fresh and ready to face our next day. Bathroom, shower, washing facilities very clean, very modern and nice. Delicious freshly cooked full English breakfast, or alternative available, fresh orange juice and tea or coffee. Thank you for everything Christine, we hope to see you again.

Room Tip: Balconies for the nice weather or maybe smokers, dare I say.

Booked this as we were going to Leigh sports village to see Elton John and wanted a quiet retreat away from crowds afterwards.Christine very amiable, nothing too much trouble. Fabulous bathroom with roll top bath, just had to have one despite the late return after concert.Breakfast cooked fresh in front of you, would definately recommend and use again.
