This hotel is most definitely in need of an update, it is very dated, and shabby. The bad ! even if the walls, carpets and furnishings are not dirty their age and wear makes them look and feel so. We were waiting to be collected on a Saturday afternoon but could not get a drink initially as the bar does not open until 3.00pm. Many of the chairs in the bar area are torn, The breakfast was adequate though not great (deep fried sausages more akin to the ones you would expect from the local chipy). Whilst the beds were comfortable the room fittings and décor are again of an age that everything looks and feels grubby. The Good! The best thing about this hotel is the fact that the staff are extremely friendly and helpful, though their are to few of them. The night porter/cleaner was an especially nice bloke. The position of this hotel is OK if you do not intend going out but is somewhat stuck out away from any other venues.
