After a busy Saturday we decide to try this place, we arrived at 7.20pm intending to have a meal. When we asked for a menu we were told they don't serve food after 7pm. We then left.

Despite living close by we had not eaten here before today. There was plenty to choose from and we decided on the cheese and onion pie and the steak and kidney pudding. Monday to Thursday they offer a two for one deal and this represented excellent value for money. They also offer daily specials. The staff are pleasant and helpful too. Lovely Victorian building with well kept gardens. We will definitely be returning here.

Nice pub off green lane, great lever, Bolton. Quite near to motorway. Pub looks like an old mill owners mansion from the outside with large spacious rooms on the inside. Serves mainly Joseph holts beer which is no surprise considering it's a Joseph holts pub! The pub has large gardens at the rear so on a nice day you can sit outside. Large easily accessible car park too. Well worth a visit if you are a fan of joey holts.

Went in to have a few drinks. The male behind the bar charged us approx. £6.00 for 2 pints and 1 half of lager. On the second round, we had three pints (2 the same as the first round) and the half of lager was now a pint - round cost £9.85. Asked the barman why it has cost an extra £3 - reason given was "not sure it's what the till said". He then checked and gave us £1 back. Ordered the same round again only to be told it was £9.85 even though he had given us £1 back - but not this time. Staff friendly at first but not when you ask them about costs.
