Although in the heart of a housing estate it is not easy to find, however when found is a nice tudor house. The staff are very helpful and knowledgable re Samual Crompton and the house history in general. Definitely worth a visit

Difficult to find as it is in the middle of a housing estate. Samuel Cromptons house. If your kids are studying Industrial History its a visual take on how an inventor lived.

tudor type house in a very unusual location, great that the admission is free, staff chat freely to you about the history of the house, house a tad boring with a mish=mash of furniture brought in from other houses in the locality so very little really and truly original, just a little boring compared with others we have seen

I have grown up around the museum and know it like the back of my hand. It is well worth a visit and is full of history. I would love to see it restored back to what it was like in the 60's and 70's with a fish pond and cafe. This would make it more of a tourist attraction and allow you to spend the time it deserved#s to explore the museum and the surrounding area
