Great for taking toddlers and dogs for exercise. Feed the ducks with the kids, and hard paths for buggies and prams. Nice pub at one end with outdoor seating as well: Hope & Anchor

This location is such a lovely place, just off a busy main road. It changes with the seasons, so you should visit each season to see it's true beauty. It takes about an hour to take a lesurley stroll around the lodge, enough time to take in the, wildlife, ducks, swans, and in summer, the butterflies. Worth a visit, if you are in the vacinity of Moss Bank Way, Bolton

Doffcocker is a very easy flat walk. It takes less than 30 minutes to leisurely walk around the lodge. The paths are well maintained hard standing but there are occasional muddy bits. The lodge plays home to a selection of ducks, geese and swans. So, it's a great spot to go and feed the ducks. Although you can quickly get surrounded by the greedy ones! There are plenty of opportunities for parking on the neighbouring streets and there is a parking area near the East bank, accessible off Chorley Old Road along side "Rainbow" playgroup. For us a walk around Doffcocker is an excuse to then go and visit the near by Delicious cafe at the Moss Bank Way / Chorley Old Road roundabout.

It's a very easy walk and the paths drain pretty well after rain. The bird life is pretty lively and demanding.
