'Exciting New Boutique Accommodation in Basingstoke'?

I think there may of been a touch of poetic licence on the website description!

There is nothing Boutique about this place, it is a B&B.

I found it to be fairly small, and although the room appeared OK at first glance, the whole place had a rather unpleasant smell of what appeared to be chip fat.

To be honest - the smell was enough to force me to make my excuses and leave, and stay in the Hilton down the road for the same price - £85.

I found £85 for a rather average B&B to be outrageously expensive and would neither stay here or recommend it.

Very poor.

Room Tip: I would suggest other accommodation would be better value in the town.

Nice hotel with a helpful host. Great breakfast cooked to order and plenty of it. My room was clean and had all the things you need when working away. Good quiet location and lots of parking.
only 5 mins into inde estate so east to get into work in busy traffic.

The bed linen although smelling fresh was damp in both the twin and the double room we booked... It felt stuffy and sweaty throughout the night....the beds in the twin rooms are small single beds and quite uncomfortable...
The central heating was switched off and we were unable to heat our room to a comfortable temperature but this was only apparent when awakening during the night at 2:30 am as the room felt chilled...

Breakfast was not adequate for our needs but some may differ on this,,, when we asked if it would be possible to make us up a bacon on toast as were still hungry after the small breakfast we were told that we would need to pay extra... Even though we had paid 10.00 this really was the game changer for us and unfortunately we would neither stay or recommend this establishment to our friends business associates or colleagues...

We was surprised to be honest that this venue had been named a lodge as this was quite misleading as the true title of this place should be b&b this would have been more suited also the 105 a room rate for staying in a house is not what I'd call value for money very deceiving other guest also were not impressed with this...

We spent two nights at the Basingstoke Lodge and found it to be ok but nothing special. Rooms are very tight with inadequate hanging space and drawers. Proprietor is friendly and helpful but unfortunately recommended a local Indian restaurant (The Spice) which we though decidedly below par. Breakfast was cooked to order but at 10 pounds a bit pricey.

I booked to stay here with my daughters and there family's for my sisters wedding. very easy to find. plenty of car parking space for all, light and airy rooms, breakfast cooked to order and very,

tasty too, my grandson was very happy with all the extras (baked beans !!!) Nigel the owner very obliging, we were the only family staying there he made us all feel very welcome, one of the better B&B i've stayed in for a very long time well book again.

Room Tip: top floor as shower takes a little longer to warm up on lower floor
