Premier Inn Basingstoke West (Churchill Way) Hotel

I have rated this Premier Inn because of the helpfulness of the staff.

We stayed here overnight, on Saturday night, as we were going to a wedding in a village nearby. I emailed to request an early check in and they emailed back to accommodate this. They also emailed to see if we would like a fan and extra sheet in our room because the weather was no warm and the hotel has no air conditioning.

We arrived a bit earlier than our specified time and the receptionist managed to check us in, even though a lot of the wedding guests were doing the same. A big thank you to the receptionist and housekeeping staff, who were working flat out on Saturday.

I realised I had forgotten my face flannel and asked at Reception if they sold them. Unfortunately they didn't, but the receptionist took our room number and when we got back to the room in the early hours of the morning, there was a new flannel on the bed, somebody had gone out and bought one from a local supermarket. Whoever that was 'Thank you'.

The room was typical Premier Inn style and the bed although firm was comfortable. We slept well, thanks to the comfortable bed, fan (and beer at the wedding) as it was warm in the room.

We really appreciated the 12.00 check out time as didn't have to rush up after a late night.

On check out, just a question of handing back the room key cards, the receptionist produced umbrellas and walked us to our car, so we didn't get soaked as it was raining. Once again, thank you. This must be a service they practice as I saw him with the umbrellas and other guests.

I really felt that this Premier Inn's staff gave a five star service. I was very impressed

Stayed for one night on the 9th August 2014 and was in a ground floor family room. The room was nice and big and quiet but abit hot and they did supply a fan. Would stay there again. Staff was very friendly.

I stayed in the middle of the summer. It was high 20s outside but there was no air conditioning so the hotel staff had put fans in the room. Unfortunately my room was near the leisure park so it was very noisy. The hotel staff were very good and moved me to a quieter room on my second night.

Apart from that - it is good standard Premier Inn. The Costa Coffee is next door - big plus!

If it is not too hot - it is a good hotel and cheaper than many of the other hotels in Basingstoke.

The room was clean & of standard design, bed comfortable, good nights rest, & staff at receotion friendly & Mel especially helpful, sadly the Beefeater next door was shut which we were not told about until the day of arrival, so we were unable to have evening meal or cooked breakfast, but were offered continential bteakfast served in reception, which we did not fancy being on full view of people coming in & out, There is a Frankie & Bennys resturant nearby but as we hadn't booked we couldn't get a table after a long journey.

Room Tip: Above reception was quiet

We stayed here for one night while attending the Summer Ball at the nearby Oakley Hall Hotel.

Our 1st. floor room was basic, but clean and perfectly well equipped. What impressed us about this Premier Inn was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A few days ahead of our stay they telephoned to apologise for the adjacent restaurant (The Spruce Goose) being closed for refurbishment. From reading reviews on here we gather that this was (a) long overdue, and (b) a lucky escape for us. We probably would not have used the restaurant anyway but it was thoughtful of the hotel to tell us in advance. A complimentary buffet breakfast was made available in the small lobby the next day.

Additionally, the weather being very hot, our room had been equipped with a fan and a light sheet to replace the duvet.

What we have here is a basic hotel, clean, excellent value, with very thoughtful and helpful staff.

Great location for Airkix which was the reason for us coming to Basingstoke. The hotel was up to the usual standard and the staff were very friendly. The room had a fan which helped get through the heat in the night - air con would be a great addition! The breakfast was superb and buffet style. One we finished at airkix we played bowling in an excellent nearby bowling centre. We then had tea in the nearby Frankie and Bennys. The location isn't beautiful but it served our purpose well.

although a nice and clean hotel the place seems plagued by the boy racers that frequent the many leasure venues that are all around the hotel ( bowling allys etc) i was awoken at 2 in the morning by screatching of tyres and roaring of engines

also the doors have huge gaps under them that floods the room with the light from the corridors
