Description: Congratulations! You’ve won the chance to visit us and have a great time, well done you! We’re a village pub in the big city (well, town), with even bigger plans for world domination. The Plough is the perfect place to meet friends, family or supervillains, as we treat you to a no-holds-barred festival of food and drink. Facilities Our toilets are dead good! If that’s not enough, there’s also a great garden that runs right down to the Grand Union Canal, and it’s a great place to eat during the brief interludes between rainshowers and downpours the British weather permits us. We even do barbecues! Inside is where we keep things like our excellent restaurant, the comfortable & relaxing snug, and the all-important bar. The toilets are inside too, don’t worry. Free wifi is available throughout, and we have free parking, but please use the spaces behind the pub instead of bringing the car in with you. We’re dog-friendly (we prefer them to humans), child-friendly, and childish. Please note any unattended child will be given caffeine and a puppy. Our staff aren’t always sarcastic; sometimes they’re asleep. Our mums love us though. We have absolutely no uranium enrichment facilities. Apologies for any inconvenience. Restaurant We’re pretty proud of our restaurant. Whether you’re with friends or colleagues, looking for a hearty meal with the family, or after a dinner for two, we’ve got you covered. Once you’ve finished admiring the decor, we’ll seat you at a table and discreetly bicker over the chance to serve you. We’ve got a great selection of wines, beers and spirits, and we’ve even heard of nonalcoholic drinks too. Our chefs specialise in unpretentious food that makes the most of quality, fresh produce. We like to prepare imaginative dishes done properly, so our menu stays interesting and enticing. No, honestly, you’ll want to eat our stuff again and again! We cater to most dietary requirements and preferences (and fussiness), including an actual variety of vegetarian choices. We love having families with kids over for tea too, no worries. If you’ve still got room after dinner, we’ve got a wonderful selection of desserts, and we do a mean cup of coffee or hot chocolate, barista style. When the weather’s kinder to all of us, you can dine out in our al fresco area, as well as in our canal-side garden. Our restaurant can be booked for private functions; ring us and ask! We’re dog-friendly (we prefer them to humans), child-friendly, and childish. Please note any unattended child will be given caffeine and a puppy.

This is an attractive pub in a small village. There is plenty of parking and the garden would be lovely on a warm day. However we were meeting friends and had booked a table for lunch. The menu was varied albeit mainly pasta and pizza with a few other choices. The restaurant is clean
[ as are the loos] and comfortable and the bar area seemed warm and welcoming.
The food was tasty and attractively served. It was a pity that my pasta was served on a cold dish.
My husband thought the lasagne very small for the price. Overall the portions were small but the coffees were excellent and we enjoyed our visit

We have visited The Plough several times and have never been disappointed! The food here is fantastic. We try to have something different everytime we visit and whatever we choose is always delicious. The staff are friendly and attentive and the food and drink is reasonably priced. I would definitely reccommend this place to anyone!

The Plough's Italian menu has a nice mix of pasta and pizza, the food tastes really good and is well presented. There are vegetarian options available which are nice, although if there were more vegetarian choice we would eat there more often! The atmosphere is great, the staff are friendly, we love our local. In the summer, you can sit out in the garden and watch the barges go by on the canal. I would like to request more draught ales though- how about some Concrete Cow Brewery options?

Went for a birthday meal on a Thursday evening and the atmosphere felt like a funeral wake - a deathly silence, no music and a group of gentlemen swearing at each other in the corner. The food was 'satisfactory'. I had lamb rack which was served with Smash as oppose to real mash. This is not a cheap place either. The lights are too bright 'spot lights' which shine right into your face, making it quite unpleasant to sit and talk. Overall this place is OK for a not particularly special night out, I wouldn't book for a special night.

There's a good atmosphere in this old village pub, which has limited parking to the rear. We ate in the bar area as restaurant was full. Clearly its popular with staff from the nearby Open University for many good reasons. Food and drink offerings were generally good, however we waited an hour for our main courses. Did they forget us in the bar? Fortunately we were happy to wait and I enjoyed the extra pint.
