We were very fortunate to book two nights, two people, one room through Travel Zoo for £150 in total including:
Afternoon tea on one day - Excellent
Dinner one evening including a bottle of wine. Good menu choice, very good, high quality meals.
All staff, without exception, were very helpful, friendly and approachable.
Linen and bedding, clean, crisp and white. Although some of the decoration was a little tired, the bathroom was spacious and up to date.

Room Tip: Suggest you book the first floor as there will be no noise from rooms above.

I stayed at this hotel a few weeks ago whilst on business and when i asked about Wifi prices i was horrified to find that there was a charge for this service!! I have stayed in many a hotels around europe and the UK and i have never had to pay for such a service as this always comes included in the stay. I found the the restaurant prices to be over the top as well as the prices for drinks at the bar, however the barman and some friendly locals made up for the for the prices and he did give me a wifi voucher to use in the bar once i raised the issue with him however this was on for an hour!!
Other than the prices i would say that if wifi is not an issue and you want to be in a country set scene then this is the perfect setting for a city hotel.

It makes a real difference to a hotel stay if the staff are friendly and enjoy their job - and everyone we met at Parkside had a smile and was genuinely concerned that everything was as it should be.

Hotel's only a couple of minutes from the centre of Milton Keynes but set in lovely parkland with loads of room for parking. Went with the half-board option which can be risky at some hotels, but turned out to be a very enjoyable meal with interesting choices (£15 a head for 3 courses at half-board rate - would have been £28 otherwise). Bar and restaurant have clearly been updated recently - pleasant change from boring beige!

Good option if you're going to visit Bletchley Park.

Me and my husband attended our neices wedding here on 5th April. When placing the booking over the phone for our room, I asked if there was any chance our room could be available for noon as we would be travelling from Doncaster and I would like to change before the wedding. I was pleasantly surprised when checking in that our room was ready for us.
We stayed in the main building overlooking the giant laurel bush with views over the fields. the room was large and clean although quite cold, I had to turn the radiator up.
Although some of the carpets are a bit tired overall the hotel was comfy and homely.
Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and reception staff were very friendly. The food for the wedding breakfast was excellent, much better than I was expecting.
Breakfast was buffet style with good selection of fresh fruit, cereal and full english breakfast. you could go up as many times as you wanted and hash browns were great.
One point to say, is if you fill in the loyalty card leaflet in at reception, you will get a discount on your room when checking out. our room should have been £90 but we got it for £80.
If I had to say 1 negative thing about the hotel is that when you book in you are asked to swipe your card and add £25 per person on top. so we had to put £140 on our card before our stay, and then paid £80 on departure. when we looked at our bank it showed the £140 going through as a payment, I rang the hotel when we got home and they said they have to cancel the payment with the bank. I have never known this procedure before and you may have to keep an eye on your bank and make sure the hotel remembers to cancel your 1st payment.
Overall I was impressed with this hotel and would definately stay here again.

I have for many years been an advocate of this hotel and its restaurant - but this time it was just not up to standard. Perhaps the fact that the restaurant was EMPTY on Easter sunday should give some indication that it's not as good as it once was. firstly we asked for a cocktail menu on arrival - lovely waiter, passed a menu to each of us - but only one of them contained the page with the coktails on! The cocktail menu was nothing exciting and lacked event the basic mojito and bloody mary's etc. My husband asked for a bloody mary and it was served in a short glass with salt around the rim - only a minor thing but it is £10 a glass so you would hope it would be a decent one! The food was extremely disappointing. The pate was not up to previous visits and no way was this hand-made - it was a mass produced glob - perfectly cut from a pack! The 'walnut bread' was small stale slices of left over rolls. The beef was nothing special - veg very bland best thing was the yorkshire pudding. We skiped dessert as we were less than impressed. When we went back to bar for coffee and liquers the waiter (not the original one from our arrival) said 'he was glad that it was quiet - it's better for him' All in all it was a shame as it used to be so good here. Sorry Parkside - if you want people to enjoy your restaurant you need to either get the old chef back or find another one! Although a lot of money has been spent on a refurb some basic housekeeping needs to be addressed - dirty paintwork on the doors (Ladies toilet is a disgrace) and a pile of yesterday's wedding confetti in the main reception with a cigar stub - nice. I am due to come here on a business meeting shortly - I will post an update....
