“Amazing Day!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 July 2014

It has taken me a while to get round to writing this review, but just wanted to say what an amazing team you have at Mercure Parkside, in particular Nicola West.
We got married on 1st of Feb and we had an fantastic day, all the staff were wonderful and couldn't do enough for us!
The location is great although you are in the centre of Milton Keynes, you get that lovely country village feel, the décor is contemporary and suited us down to the ground. The bar area was great as it gave guests somewhere to escape the music and have a quiet drink in the evening.
The food was amazing and exactly what we wanted and very generous portions.
All our guests commented on what a great day it was and a big part of that was down to the staff at Mercure!
I can't recommend this hotel enough!

Thank you all so much for the best day of our lives!!

We got married at Parkside on June 21st and would recommend it without hesitation to anyone.

The building and grounds are fantastic with so many opportunities for photographs. The food was amazing - many of the guests commented to us about it. After the wedding, we stayed in the Hatherall Suite, which was welcome luxury after an exciting and busy day.

However the biggest draw for this venue for anyone looking for a wedding venue is the staff. Having booked our wedding 18 months in advance, Nicola and her rest of the team were great - so accommodating and knowledgeable. On the day everything ran perfectly, with Nicola and Jessica handling everything for us - so we were able to relax and enjoy our day.

A huge thank you to all of the staff at Parkside for making our day so special and memorable!

stayed here at the weekend due to a concert we were attending at Milton Keynes Bowl.
Very nice reception and bar area looks very welcoming and wish we had time to sample the food!

The corridors and rooms leading off the corridors could do with a tidy up, there seemed to be doors open to side rooms and random table and chairs through out as though they were left after a wedding or something.

The room was very good, clean and tidy and a good size bathroom, I really liked all the toiletries you received i think it was a nice touch and the shower was very good.

We did book a double room but was assigned a twin room, to be honest not worth mentioning to staff as we were happy to push the beds together.

Didn't have breakfast so cannot comment but i think £30.00 for 2 of you is a bit steep and perhaps why we chose to drive to the center for breakfast.

Overall was a good stay (if not a bit on the expensive side), would stay again.
Also the man on reception was very helpful (i think his name was Kieran).

Thank you so much for your comments regarding your stay here. I'm so sorry that we allocated you a twin room instead of a double - next time just let us know and we'll try our upmost to move you to a different room.

I really hope that you enjoyed your concert and Milton Keynes as a whole!

Kind regards

I've been staying in Milton Keynes on business for 4 years but decided to book this hotel for a night for leisure. It's in a stunning little village but it's own grounds are impressive. The buildings are attractive from the outside and the insides are very traditional. The room was small but did the job which was simply to relax. Definitely a place to get away from it all

Stayed here for 3 nights in a 'family room' for a wedding. The 3rd bed in the room (a fold down bed) was broken and our son ended up sleeping on the mattress on the floor. We told the chamber maid but she didn't change it.

Carpets on the stairs are worn and need replaced.

Breakfast staff were fantastic but the man who introduced the bride and groom had hygiene issues.

The hotel swiped my bank card when we checked in which secured the funds but on checking out, the money was taken from my account but the funds previously secured were not released again for quite a few days. I tried to call hotel once I discovered this but got no answer, not even from reception. I emailed the General Manager but this has been ignored. I contacted the Mercure customer service department via their website and this has also been ignored.

Very disappointed with our experience at the hotel and being regulars to MK, we will not stay here again. There are plenty other good places to stay in MK.

Thank you for your considered review. I'm so sorry for the issues that you faced during your stay! This is clearly not the standard that we set, or accept and I would welcome the opportunity to discuss these problems with you.

I haven't received your email either directly, or via Head Office, which is extremely rare. Perhaps you would forward it again to me? My email address is nicholas.bees@accor.com.

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

We are a young couple who stayed here for a wedding at the weekend. Great venue, great service & fab overall stay. Cant complain about anything was all very good! We stayed on the saturday night and had the cooked breakfast on the sunday morning which was very nice. I realised on the monday morning that i had left some items in my hotel room (including a sentimental necklace) i popped back to the hotel on the monday and they searched for my lost items straight away and found all them

We got married at this hotel on 31st May last year, and returned to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. The hotel is just as good as we remembered! The dinner we had was perfect. Great food in the lovely quiet restaurant. Lovely 'Prestige' room, met all of our needs and expectations. We spent the afternoon reminiscing about our wedding day, and creating a photo-book of the day - brought back lots of great memories! We love the Mercure Parkside and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone - great staff, great service, great food....a great night away!
