We booked in for a family meal, 8 in total, on the Saturday night just gone. We arrived and were seated straight away and were offered drinks and poppadoms whilst looking through the menu. When the starters arrived they were all wrong, mix starters instead meat samosa for 5 of us. They apologised and gave us the mixed starter for no extra cost, that was fine, but by this point all the starters were cold. Other "meat" samosa arrived after and they all turned out to be vegetable. We kept on ordering drinks and they were taking 15 mins to arrive or not at all. That all being said the mains arrived and they were really nice.

Maybe it was because we were there on a busy Saturday night, but i wouldn't rush back, even though the mains were very nice, it was let down by the waiter service......

Really enjoyed our meal. Good flavours, generous portions, very clean pleasant surroundings - a surprise as it was not really what we were expecting. Service very attentive. Would definitely go back.

This is the second time I've visited this place and I must say that the quality of the food is really super and does not swim in oil, the décor is modern and smart.

What really lets this place down is the quality of the service, the waiters are totally untrained and do not know how to do their job. We visited last Saturday evening at 7:00 so the restaurant was not busy and was around a third full.

We'd booked a table for 6, but it was a "surprise"! when we arrived so they scratched their heads for a bit and finally pushed 2 tables of 4 together along a bench seat. We noticed that there were 3 large round tables empty so we asked for one of those which easily accommodated us.

Our drinks order was taken and we asked for popudums, - they delivered 4, so I had to get another 2.

When the drinks came the waiter stood at the table and shouted out the drinks as he lifted them from the tray and leaned across the table to give them to the recipient and as he couldn't reach everyone from his position he asked for the drinks to be passed around.

It was the same when the food arrived they seemed to have no memory at all of who ordered what - or was just being lazy.

When it was time to remove the plates etc after the meal, instead of walking around the table and taking from the right of the customers. He had a little competition with himself to see just how many plates pots and cutlery he could stack onto his arm which was fine but in order to do this he was leaning so far over the table his elbows were in my and my guests faces. Why he could not walk around the table to collect I do not know - lazy?.

Anyway he seemed determined to accomplished this task in 2 visits and set about building a mountain of plates, bowls, pots, balti dishes, knives, forks, spoons glasses - a sort of tetris of cutlery and crockery. After some time and much re stacking he could not manage the last Balti dish so he had to make a third trip anyway!!!

So to sum up, a nicely decorated restaurant with good food, but the waiters of which there were 3 were rubbish they could not remember who ordered what and invaded the diners space when clearing the table. Maybe if the management, of which there was also 3 behind the counter, spent a little more effort on training it would make an average place into a very good one. They also need to sort the electrics out as there were 2 power cuts during our meal when the "fuses" had to be reset.

This is the latest Indian Restaurant opened by Ash, (The Grange, Zingha), and it is good to see that he has continued the trend from the previous ventures. The food is varied and always of good quality, the restaurant is smart and modern and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Prices are reasonable and there is a good selection of wine on the wine list. Always a pleasure to go and eat there.
