“Very friendly and relaxing”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

My wife and I stayed in one of the cottages for two nights. We were there to visit with friends in the area. Our self catering facility was spotless, well equipped, and had that brand new feel about it. We were close to the canal and the Navigation Inn opposite had great beers. A short 10-15 minute drive and you are in some wonderful villages with a very relaxed feel about them. Having our lunch sitting outside a pub in Stoke Bruerne, in the sun, watching people messing about in canal boats is what I call "chillaxin" (is that a real word?)
Lucy and Merv were so welcoming and I am sure we will be back soon.

Room Tip: We had cottage No 5 and never hear a sound at night. Great pub directly over the road, so no argumen...

This one night stay was our first experience of Elm Tree Farm. Pre arrival communications were helpful and accommodating. Easy to find route wise - in a very attractive rural setting. Self catering accommodation of a standard such that a much longer stay would have been enjoyed. The close proximity of the village of Castelthorpe provides easy access to shop, post office, pubs etc. Best of all was the engaging, smiling, willing and good humoured owners. There upbeat attitude was much appreciated - they even got their chickens to lay eggs for our breakfast. I got a rare good night's sleep for once. The sun shone brightly the day of our arrival such that we were able to make use of comfortable outdoor seating area. Good WiFi connection too. An all round very good experience.

Room Tip: All accommodation is attractive, fresh, clean, functional and value for money... and well worth a fu...

Working away from home can be tough. This is a brilliant alternative to staying in a hotel for the same price (if not less)

Furnish to high standards, clean, spacious, plenty of parking, pub within walking distance. You will never stay in a hotel again I promise! It made my stay in Milton Keynes perfect, I got plenty of sleep, I could do all my work from the apartment in a warm and quiet environment with fast uninterrupted internet connection. All the facilities I needed was there and I stayed every week for months on end and also have booked to go back.

Lucy and Merv were an absolute delight, payments were flexible and I could come and go at my leisure. Local fitness facilities were within 5-10 minutes drive, loads to do around Milton Keynes for family and children would love this.

Lucy's friendly hospitality makes the whole package exceptional.
I had a lovely time exploring Northamptonshire with the help of an OS map and book of walks that i was lent at the drop of a hat

I booked into a self-catering studio at the very last minute (the day before on the weekend!) and Lucy couldn't have been more helpful, friendly and welcoming. She was very easy going about arrival times and payment etc, which made it all very easy, and the studio itself was lovely. It was modern, clean and comfortable and I'm looking forward to coming back for longer so I can look around the farm - exciting! Thanks again.

The whole family had a lovely week long stay at Elm Tree Farm Cottages. Thrupp Cottage is spacious, cosy, furnished to a high standard and well equipped for a family with young children. Lucy and Merv are extremely welcoming and helpful and Lucy and the children even found the time to show all us the animals on the farm- Thank you! :) You can lie in bed and look up at the stars and wake up in the morning to the sound of distant mooing or cock-a-doodle-doing - so charming.

The surroundings are idllyic with scenery nor unlike ´Heartbeat´ with a gorgeous canal and a good old-fashioned English pub only a stones throw away. Close proximity to Milton Keynes and easy access to M1 makes your stay an absolute pleasure as you get a sense that your at a country getaway while not actually being too far from the shops and whole host of other leisure activities.

We definitely recommed to the place to other families and would certainly love to stay there again in the future. Thanks again :)

Six of us stayed at Elm Tree for a long weekend in May staying the the large cottage and the studio adjacent. Spacious accomodation and suited our every need. Lucy and Merv were there to offer any assistance but were not intrusive. Would definitely use again.
