“Very good value but a dated property”
Reviewed 20 November 2013

Have stayed at several other Premier Inns this year. This one is perfectly adequate, especially as the price may be lower than at their other nearby alternatives, but the rooms are surprisingly dated given that the building itself does not look that old. The water in the bathroom was scaldingly hot.

Such a nice clean hotel with very happy and helpful workers, the bed was extra comfy and the hotel itself even from the outside looks beautiful!! Unfortunately we only stayed there for a night but I would love to stay there again!! I would definitely recommend it!!

The premier inn is in a great location right next to the lake and not too far from the centre. We used it for snowdome which is only around 3miles away and because of the price we would definitely use it again!

Nice setting over the lake, but only just about clean rooms.Very noisy all night with both traffic noise and internal noise from adjoining rooms.
The breakfast was ok but not all of the selection was filled up and ended up waiting around for fresh products whilst the products i had already picked were going cold (not value for money on the breakfast ime afraid).

At the end of the day it was somewhere to stick my head for the evening, nothing more ime afraid.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the lake not the dual carriage way as the windows do not cut down on noise at a...

My wife, daughter and I booked a 3-night stay here at the start of this week. Our two rooms cost about £420, a little on the high side for Premier Inn, but we were happy to pay this given our previous PI experiences in 2013. Sadly, we felt a bit let down on this occasion. The hotel needs a bit of money spent on the bedrooms (I haven't seen one of these box TVs for years !!!), and the bathroom in each room was quite small. The temperature in the corridors was cold, not the greatest situation when it was close to freezing at night-time.

Meals were, as normal, available in the integrated restaurant. The breakfasts, while reasonably priced, were disappointingly poor in quality, certainly in comparison to the three other PIs we've stayed at this year. The finish time of 9 a.m. was also a bit early for us although I can appreciate that it is targeted more at people staying there on business. Getting there at about 8.45 a.m. meant that there was a shortage of crockery and some of the Continental breakfast choices, although they were replenished when we managed to track down the single waitress on duty !

On the plus side, every one of the staff we met was charming and displayed what I would say is a typical PI demeanour - they really look as if they're enjoying their work, are always smiling, unfailingly ask you how your day was and wish you a good day every morning. Some people might find this a bit over-the-top, but the staff are so genuine that I just think this is a tribute to excellent training.

Milton Keynes is more a place to travel on business as opposed to holiday, but if we were returning, we'd choose one of the other PIs in the city.

Bad beds and noisy. Complaint not reported from night staff to morning staff.promised refund but because I paid cash. I'm still waiting as promised. refund. Although the convenience of bars and restaurant is great and no noise from the pub when it turns out.

Not the best Premier Inn we've stayed in, but still representing good value if you've booked at a discounted price.

The hotel is easy to find, and has an enormous car park. The staff are generally friendly and helpful. Our family room, on the ground floor, was a little tired and worn, and lacking the sparkle that we've encountered recently at other Premier Inns. That said, it was clean, and there was nothing worthy of complaint.

On the opposite side of the building is a pub, where breakfast is taken, seemingly run by a different company from the hotel. Breakfast is the usual offering (except oddly only plum tomatoes, not grilled). The serious let down is their coffee. It's dishwater, served from pump action flasks, and so by the time you've added milk it’s also only lukewarm. I complained, and was told that I could order ONE "free" Costa Coffee from their bar. So I got one decent cappuccino (where I would expect to have three). When this was brought my wife and daughter also ordered, and the waitress' reaction showed why they didn't advertise this service (unless you complained): she clearly resented having to waste her time on making coffee. The Premier Inn breakfast is advertised as all you can eat, and Costa Coffee is on the list. I can't believe Costa put their name to the muck in the pump action flasks, so it seems that Premier Inn are not providing what they promise here. The last one we stayed in had a very good (if a little slow) counter top self service Costa machine, which provided an excellent choice of coffees. This hotel should definitely invest in one.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are overlooked from the car park.
