“Convenient”
Reviewed 27 December 2013

This is a typical, no frills Premier Travel Inn which we got at a bargain rate for our stay over Christmas, visiting family. It was clean, tidy and warm. We were in a room on the third floor. it is near a very beautiful lake well used by dog walkers.

No lift, so could be tricky with a lot of luggage. No telephone in the room and I couldn't get a signal on my mobile. This could have been tricky in an emergency.

The reception staff were efficient and helpful. We had no need for breakfast so can't comment on that. There was a large restaurant next door which served a carvery as well as the usual. It was very busy when we had a quick lunch on our arrival on Christmas Eve. Again the staff were efficient and friendly.

It is what it is, I would not have been happy to have paid the full rate but at the bargain rate of £29 a night it was fine.

Room Tip: Room facing the lake are quieter. No lift.

The bath was that dirty the wife and children refused to get in and I had to lay a towel in the bottom just to shower. Pubic hair on bathroom floor. Childrens bed was stained with blood spots and some larger fluid stains.

Such a shame, beautiful building and surrondings. Avoid this hotel at all cost.

Stayed in lots of Premier Inns and love them on the whole. Had a good nights sleep in the usual standard of comfy bed no probs
Had an old style TV the ones with the big backs like we all had until around 5 yrs ago. Other than that it was great. If we'd had time in the morning we'd have gone for a walk around the lake too which is right outside

Unless you are lucky enough to get a £29 a night deal - mid week - then £85 plus for these rooms is pushing it.

The location would be quite pleasant mid summer but in December its pretty depressing.

Same old addage about the rooms being tired, carpets dirty and even though I did have a room facing the lake, the "guests" exiting the attached Fayre and Square diner made sure there was no semblance of peace and quiet until at least mid night.

Fair enough, the reception staff were very friendly and there was plenty of space to park.

That said - as with the majority of Prenier Inns these days, the windows/patio doors barely close and result in noise and cold air blowing in unabated. Thankfully the wind was in the other direction and the heater was working.

Would I recommend it ? - no - the Premier Inns at the City Centre and Willen Lake are better (unless you can get a £29 deal - which, mid week - are as rare as hens teeth.)

Whilst Premier Inn Management continually try and deny any liability for their attached diners, the fact that they all seem to have "Fayre and Square" establishments next to them (some intrinsically linked ) seem to suggest at least a lease agreement - therefore Premier Inn as the Landlord should buck up their diners - Poor service, dirty tables and cutlery, and fittings that should be replaced. Not a pleasurable experience.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the lake otherwise traffic noise will be a problem.

We stay at the Premier Inn Furzton Lake once a year because we're visiting friends nearby. Decent value for a decent price. Rooms are big, also the bathroom. Everything works fine. Nice hotel pub.
Breakfast is OK (coming from the Netherlands we're having Continental.. So we're maybe not the best judge :-)
cleanliness of the outside pub area is horrible: Full ashtrays (never been emptied the whole time), beer glasses in the morning from the night before... quite disgusting.

Stayed here for one night and was very pleased with staffs helpfulness and friendliness. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pub next door was good with a good choice of food. Lovely lake next to the hotel. Would stay again.

Great hotel for visiting Gullivers. Staff on reception are beyond helpful & friendly. First night we had a room with paper thin walls (room 112) but we were quickly and efficiently moved the next day!
