“I have been here a few times, the food is...”
Reviewed 10 September 2010

I have been here a few times, the food is tasty but possibly from brake brothers and not home made.
The service is good, the staff are friendly.
It has an atmosphere of a local pub.
Recommend it for those last minute meals, when you are on yor way to Maidstone and need somewhere to eat on the way.

All our food is supplied fresh from local produce, we do not use Brake Bros and have no intention of changing

“great pub food with charm”
Reviewed 25 August 2010

Went on a weekday lunch time with a family party of 8 booked online that morning.
Cosy rustic setting, excellent menu including duck, steak, sea bass, crab and salmon cakes, bbq ribs, chicken with Veg and no stodge at 400 cals (good idea that!) and daily special fixed price options. All very tasty with good sauces and option of veg (perfectly cooked) or salad. Generous puds spectacular raspberry cheesake or sticky toffee.
Attentive service
Ill be back.

“Good value in historic setting”
Reviewed 20 September 2009

The dining area includes exposed beams, low ceiling and a great fireplace to retain the old world feel of it's origins. The meals were fresh and offered a good variety. Soup was delicious with generouis portion and fresh baked bread.
Thursday nights also has a quiz night for a bit of optional fun which is delivered table by table so other patrons are not overly disturbed by a loud DJ like in some places.
