This is a lovely little cafe/restaurant. The staff are friendly, the food is excellent and it's good value too. Recently refurbished, I would recommend it, especially for breakfast!!"

I have visited here on a couple of occasions, one for drinks and more recently for breakfast.
We both had scrambled eggs & beans on toast. We asked for poached however they don't do them which is a shame. Nicely presented and for this plus a slice of bacon and tomatoes it came to £9.50. Very handy as only just up bank street in town. You're not cramped in and there is lots of space to sit. Will return

Further to my previous glowing review, I have continued to eat here- not quite as regularly as I used to due to having less time, but at least once a month- and I am sorry to say the place has lost it's sparkle- not just the staff, but the food as well.

The menu has barely changed over 3 or 4 years, and is boring and predictable now. It has now become a very expensive place to have a quick snack. For example, a sausage sandwich, a small jacket potato with tuna/mayo, a regular hot chocolate and americano costs nearly £16! And don't think that's because it's well presented and top quality, because it isn't. It's not poor quality either, but the product doesn't match the price tag.

Staff have changed a lot over the years and the newer staff are not a patch on the old. The remaining original staff that are still there don't seem as friendly and appear jaded.

Needs a fresh injection of motivation and ideas for the menu for me to continue visiting I'm sorry to say.

Hostile waitress, she fixed open the door the draught was too much, my wife closed it. The waitress came back and went to open it again, we asked the manageress if it could left closed. Then when some more custs. came she opened the door again ignored us and sought the support of the new custs. to leave the door open. Nice!
