“Amazing stay”
Reviewed 23 May 2014

We stayed here for 1 night recently and had the most amazing time. The staff are so helpful and nice and couldn't do enough for us.Its so lovely being able to walk around the grounds once everyone has left and we had the added bonus of beautiful weather. The Fairfax restaurant was nice with the most incredible views of the Castle. We had an issue with the shower which was dealt with immediately. The only gripe i would say is the room was way too hot even though there was a fan and slightly bigger jugs of milk for breakfast in the morning on the table but hey i would totally recommend staying here and look forward to booking again in the very near future.Thank you to all the staff at Leeds Castle.

Room Tip: All rooms i,m sure are lovely,i would recommend taking extra teabags etc for the room

Absolutely lovely...a surprise treat pre-valentines day and a lovely surprise it was! We had a beautiful large room located at the end of the courtyard with the lake view from the window. We had a lovely 3 course meal with only a few other residents due to it being the day before valentines which was even better as it felt like the whole place had been reserved just for us :)
I would definitely recommend this to anyone whom wishes to feel just a little bit special as the grounds are simply stunning to walk around and enjoy the moment.

We stayed at the Leeds Castl Stable B+B which was fantastic.
I could not fault the whole experience.
Parking was close and ample of it.
Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable.
We stayed with out 4 yr old, whom sleep in our bed (which was more than big enough), rather than having an extra bed, therefore stayed for free.
Breakfast was in the Restaurant just across the court yard about 2 min walk which was delicious. You walk out of your front door to see a lovely view of the castle.
All visitors to the castle leave by 5pm, but you have the run of the grounds etc until you wish (Kid play area is closed, and Maize). you get free entry to the grounds and castle on your arrival day, and departure day. We stayed during the Easter break, and did not find the castle or grounds too busy. Our 4yr old enjoyed the Easter trail they were running . I could not recommend this B+B enough, it was very reasonable, and you felt as though you received more than you were paying for. Will definitely stay again.

We have just returned from the 1930's dine and sleep event at Leeds castle - an unmissable experience. It was suggested that guests dress in 1930's costume, and it was great to see that people embraced the opportunity. This was exactly how one would imagine the house parties to be that Lady Baillie threw in the 'thirties. The whole event was excellent, from being dropped off at the castle in the 1937 Rolls Royce, the wonderful period bedroom in the castle , the castle tour, afternoon tea, cocktails in the library, dinner in the banqueting hall, and coffee in the drawing rooms with vintage music. The staff were welcoming and attentive, the food excellent, including breakfast . Lots of little touches made this a special experience, and Leeds castle really is ' the loveliest castle ' I have been to!

Room Tip: Pay the extra to get a wonderful room.

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay with us at Leeds Castle for the 1930’s Dine and sleep, We are delighted that you enjoyed the experience and your stay.
It is a rare experience to stay in one of England’s oldest treasure houses. When Lady Baillie completely redecorated and modernised the castle in the 1930’s, she made absolutely sure that her guests would receive the very latest in comfort and utmost service.

Easy to find using the supplied instructions. Very friendly check in from a very nice young chap. Room (18) was brilliant, massive bathroom with great shower, good size bedroom/living area and a big (2 pushed together) bed and very clean. Lovely views of the lake and plenty of wildlife. Superbly positioned with stunning views of Leeds castle 10 yards from our front door. Gorgeous gardens surround the accommodation. Breakfast is served in the Fairfax room with the most amazing view of the castle and was very tasty but is the only thing I could possible criticize, they have opted for ordering your breakfast off a menu rather that buffet, I cannot think why and what we ordered did not arrive as ordered or at the same time as requested (minor point!!). A used spoon (not dirty, used!!) was also left for me to use but luckily I did not have anything that required a desert spoon. I was also disappointed in the threat contained within the booking instructions which reads "Check out is 10AM. Failure to vacate bedrooms by this time will result in a penalty payment of £140". Everybody knows about check out times and this is heavy handed and unnecessary. Overall this place is awesome as the room and the views for the price is awesome but minor touches need addressing. I WILL be staying here again as it is a perfect getaway with lovely staff but a bit more concentration please!!

Ok, so we were bought this overnight stay for my birthday. But we are often disappointed by where we stay. Not this time. The security man and receptionist on arrival were both very pleasant and helpful. The room was beautiful, overlooking the herb gardens. It was large and bright, and the bathroom itself was bigger than many hotel bedroom/bathroom combinations. All immaculately clean with soaps etc and free bottled water (rare these days).
I've reviewed the castle separately (5*), and we were unable to have dinner in the Fairfax Restaurant (too late to book), so ate out. On our return we walked around the castle grounds and viewed the illuminated castle, quite special. The bed was very comfortable and we slept well, disturbed only by the sounds of the countryside in spring, and you can't complain about that.
Breakfast was very good, and again the staff very pleasant and helpful.
Only one small gripe - we had to vacate the room by 10.00. The castle doesn't open until 10.30, although a coach party were taken in at 10.00. On a pleasant morning no problem, but Sunday morning wasn't nice and we spent half-an-hour strolling and keeping warm. Early entry for B&B'ers? But we would happily stay again.

We stayed here for one night at the end of a weeks trip in France to celebrate our Silver Wedding Anniversary and to break up the journey home to South Wales. We booked a package for £159 which included bed and breakfast, evening meal and entrance to the castle and gardens. We arrived about 6pm, the gentleman at reception was really pleasant and helpful, the room was very clean and comfortable. We had a walk around the gardens before dinner, with all the spring flowers and blossom was fantastic. Evening meal and breakfast were both very good. We visited the castle the following morning. All in all a truly wonderful experience and an amazing finale to our Silver Wedding Celebrations. Can't wait to do this again.
