“Can't get enough !!”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

After visiting this hotel for the first time earlier this month and being blown away by the great service and outstanding quality of food, it would only be right to come back again but as a surprise weekend for my parter and needless to say, the quality is still of a very high standard, our room is unbelievably clean and very spacious, the food had a few more items on the menu which I was intrigued to try and again was blown away by the amount of flavour and perfection the food provided, a big thank you to Gareth the chef for that ! Would definitely return to this hotel again and again !! A must to anyone looking for good quality service, good food and a great nights sleep in Maidstone. A big thank you to Alistair and everyone at the town house !!

This is a nice little hotel which is very clean and tidy with very pleasant staff both evening and morning. But we went out for a bite to eat only to return to the hotel at 9.15 to find out all the staff had gone and the bar was closed in my opinion this is not a hotel but an excellent B&B.

A boutique Hotel in Maidstone Kent. Brilliant location a 12 minute walk through the main street of the town to the hotel.

Met by great staff who are ready to explain all the local attractions and relevant information you may need.

To be honest we never had dinner but if the breakfast was anything to go by it should be great.

Great room, spacious and a great size shower room, no bath but i prefer that.

Room Tip: To be honest we read a previous recommendation for advising of a room not on the front of the hotel...

You know you are in a hotel with difference when the staff serve breakfast wearing white gloves! The Townhouse is a little bit quirky, some of the staff look like they are dressed for a day at Royal Ascot. One can't help get the feeling that they would be more at home in a grand Ritz-style hotel, complete with Concierge who can get you anything! They are however very welcoming and helpful
The reception opens onto a fairly busy main road in the centre of Maidstone and if you are lucky you can park right across the street, albeit on a parking meter.
The rooms are very clean and my room (14) was quite spacious. The bathroom contained just a shower but had plenty of toiletries and shower caps. A tall person may however find it cramped sitting on the toilet due to the proximity of the wall. The bed was comfortable enough and the sheets etc of good quality.
Breakfast, a little expensive at £10 is very good though. I had the full cooked breakfast but my colleague opted for Smoked Salmon and Scrambled eggs which was plentiful and beautifully presented.
One minor complaint, the bar closes early (10:30pm?) and the hotel does not appear to be staffed overnight, although they do provide you with emergency numbers. On the whole, a very pleasant hotel!

Room Tip: Room 14 is on the ground floor and spacious. I don't think there is a lift in this hotel so be s...

Thank you for your lovely review. We pride ourselves in our customer service and it is always a pleasure to receive such feedback.

We do have a night porter on duty. Sometimes he is based around the hotel with jobs over night, so you might just have missed him!

We hope to see you again soon.

After a very disappointing reception at another well known Maidstone Hotel recently, I was unsure about this one. I shouldn't have worried. From the moment I arrived for a late check in, till I left the following morning, I was treated with courtesy and professionalism.
The (upgraded) room was clean, comfortable and well stocked with personal items. The recent refurbishment has been skilfully done, to maintain the historic feel of the property. I had the best nights sleep in ages.
The Manager Alistair was friendly and well informed about local food outlets and transportation links.
The Eggs Benedict for breakfast in the morning downstairs was probably the nicest I have tasted, all served by polite attentive staff. I really can't recommend this Hotel highly enough, and will be passing on this information to my friends and colleagues.
Thank you.

We booked to see a Kyle Eastwood at the Pizza Express in Maidstone and chose the Townhouse because of the good reviews. Beautiful property and great location. We also lucked out by getting parking right outside. The manager Alistair actually up-graded us to a better room too, so all in all, things were great from the start. The room was 'sparkling', very fresh and clean, wi-fi was strong and we even decided to add breakfast which was a real treat (£10pp) and a bargain in my opinion.

Musicians! If you are staying/playing in Maidstone. Book this hotel. Tell them PJ sent you :0)
Thank you Alistair.

We had a most enjoyable stay in the Townhouse Hotel Maidstone. It was reasonably priced. The rooms had been recently decorated to a very clean, high standard. The food was well presented and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. All in all a great find and it is an independent hotel and on the up too, with many new features being built into the whole eating and sleeping experience. I recommend this hotel to anyone. One thought I did have, is that it could be a stop off point for any one coming from afar before crossing the channel early the next day when going off on holiday to the continent.
