My husband and I stayed here for a night at the end of May. Wasn't sure what to expect as have heard mixed reviews beforehand. I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised. The hotel staff seemed to be polite, rooms were nice and clean (minus a couple old stains on the carpet but you've got to expect some wear and tear in rooms realistically). We was going to eat in the hotel but my husband was warned by locals (whom he met in the sauna/steam rooms) that the food was appalling (breakfast is ok though) and they recommended a couple local pubs for good food. There was loads of choice locally, a harvester, beefeater and lots of local friendly pubs. Overall, we had a nice time and had our moneys worth. We would stay there again but will probably still avoid the hotel food again.

Room Tip: Worth speaking to locals for a decent place to eat

Usually stay at the nearby Holiday Inn but unfortunately being a bank holiday that was full. Room rate of £55 including breakfast was good. Plenty of parking and convenient location or M20
Check in was average. Room was of decent size and similar to Premier Inn.

Went out to eat due the the very high prices of the 'Pub Grub' in the Victory Bar, and also the previous poor reviews. On returning later in the evening there was not hot water for a bath or shower. Contacted reception and was advised that due to earlier fire evacuation the boiler had not been turned back on!??!! Was told it was now sorted and to give it 5 minutes to heat up. - No apology at all was given. Phoned reception again an hour and a half later and was told to run all the taps for 10 minutes - what fantastic green credentials (and huge water bills) this hotel must have! At midnight managed to get a warmish bath by filling using only the hot tap. Basin tap was still producing cold water.
Like another contributor we had to endure the non stop wine of machinery in the storeroom opposite for much of the night. In the morning bath water was hotter but still absolutely no hot water to basin.
On check out reception were slightly more apologetic about the water problem but proceeded to charge £2.50 for paying by credit card and then - heres the best bit - £1.50 for a daily mail newspaper!! I queried this and was told there was a £1 service charge for the newspaper. Seem this place is the hotel equivalent of Ryanair!! Be prepared to have every last drop of blood squeezed out of you here. Not what I would expect from the DeVere group.

This hotel is a good price, located conveniently for the motorway. Given this, it was much as expected and I would have no complaint. Unfortunately the structure is such that the building is noisy. We had a first floor room and were repeatedly disturbed by the noise from the floor above. I do not know what the floor construction is up there but every step caused the floor to creak as though it was Rolf Harris' wobble board! If you stay here ask for a room on the top floor!

Best thing about maid stone was our hotel, our group of 6 stayed for a weekend break and had a great time! from the moment we trundled in the door and were revived by our starbucks coffee followed by a cheery hello from the girls behind the desk, we had a ball.
we expected an average hotel but we got a warm, frendly hotel you would expect from a country house hotel.
Good gym, good breakfast but the best of all was the tribute night to micheal Jackson OMG we danced like it was the 1980S im sure to the shock of the locals who were out in force on the night.
the staff were really helpful and really helped us with our travel arrangements for trains to london and underground etc which really helped.
Sunday Lunch was busy but we were served fast and the food was great, I have to say we all enjoyed our break and will definately use village again on our next trip away !!
well done Village

Me and my partner stayed here 12th May and was not impressed at all! When we arrived the first impressions were high, the reception area was lovely and check in staff friendly enough but it all went down hill from there.. The room we stayed in was dirty, the toilet bowl had clearly not been cleaned and was discusting I don't have to tell you why just use your imagination that's all I'm saying! The toilet roll was half used from previous guests! The bath had a dirt residue round it and hair in plug hole. The bed side cabinets were dusty looked like they hadnt seen a duster in a while to say least! The bed was comfy but there was hair under the duvet!!! And the pillow's were lumpy and when I rang down to inform night staff and asked for replacements they were very rude and said all the pillows are the same, so are all pillow's in this hotel lumpy??!! Our room was the last along corridor and was next to a noisy generator which didn't stop humming all night. The food menu was of poor content and if your a vegetarian don't bother as the menu mostly consists of steak and is unreasonably priced for the quality of food that is served. This hotel is the worst I have stayed in and I've never wrote a review before that's how strongly I feel about this shame of a hotel and don't want other people to be ripped off!! Shame on you village hotel!!

We are so glad we picked this hotel, as we were hesitant as to whether to book due to some of the reviews, but these turned out to be totally unjustified in our experience. We have stayed in many hotels over the years and know a good hotel from a bad one through experience and we can honestly say this was a good choice on our part..
On arrival we were welcomed by the warm and friendly staff to a nice bright clean hotel.
Our room was pleasant clean and well equipped The food was lovely for £12.50 we got a 5 course all you can eat carvery a true bargain!!!.Breakfast was buffet style & again very tasty and enjoyable no complaints. The staff were all polite, cheerful and only to happy to help.
The leisure facilities were all beautifully clean and we really enjoyed using them all..We will definitely use this hotel again and recommend it
