Nine of us went to see Grease in September 2013. The Hazlitt has a lovely community feel about it and you could see there were regular patrons. But it is equally adept at handling total strangers.
Staff are friendly and the size of the auditorium means even those in the back rows still have a clear view (more than can be said for some of the money-grabbing London theatres). Prices are so reasonable we combined it with a cheap stay in the local Premier Inn, making a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable weekend.
The performance was very good and unexpected humour was introduced when what appeared to be an over active dry-ice machine seemed to 'gas' the first couple of rows of audience, much to the amusement of all concerned :-)
