“Panto!!!”
Reviewed 4 January 2014 via mobile

I love the Hazlitt Panto, very funny, quite rude, proper old fashioned theatre, not too slick. Had a really great night with children from 6 to 14 and a couple of OAP's. Will be back next year

“Great Panto”
Reviewed 13 December 2013

Had a great evening watching Dick Whittington, with lots of humour for kids and adults (and the cast - they were in hysterics too), all the panto essentials, lots of audience participation and great signing voices from a fair number of the cast really carrying off the musical numbers.

If you can get a ticket, go for it

“Wonderful little theatre”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

The size of the theatre makes it interesting. Wonderful variety of acts, shows, entertainment available. Reasonable prices.
For some of the shows you have to make sure you book asap as obviously seats are limited.

“Cosy and friendly”
Reviewed 29 September 2013

Nine of us went to see Grease in September 2013. The Hazlitt has a lovely community feel about it and you could see there were regular patrons. But it is equally adept at handling total strangers.
Staff are friendly and the size of the auditorium means even those in the back rows still have a clear view (more than can be said for some of the money-grabbing London theatres). Prices are so reasonable we combined it with a cheap stay in the local Premier Inn, making a thoroughly relaxed and enjoyable weekend.
The performance was very good and unexpected humour was introduced when what appeared to be an over active dry-ice machine seemed to 'gas' the first couple of rows of audience, much to the amusement of all concerned :-)

“Good local theatre”
Reviewed 29 July 2013

We visit every December for the panto. The theatre is fairly small but has regular events, and is right in the centre of town. Fremlin Walk carpark[covered] is only 100 yds in the same street.
