This NT property is only open occasionally, so when I was in the area and saw it was open, knew I had to make the effort to find it. And it is well worth venturing down the very narrow lanes (and having to back quite a long way when faced with an oncoming tractor) to find this property. Originally a yeoman's hall it had been altered a number of times over the centuries, the last time in the early 20th Century when it was bought and modified by an Arts and Craft enthusiast. So it is sometimes hard to tell what is original, and what is more recent, but it is nonetheless interesting for that. The feel of the house is timeless and accommodating. of all the NT places I've been, this is the one I could see myself living in.The volunteers were friendly and the cake available in the kitchen was excellent. The gardens are well worth a wander round,
