We had a great 2 weeks at Pear Tree Cottge. It is so peaceful and picturesque, with a short walk to the very friendly Swan on the Green pub.
We did appreciate an early checkin after a long haul flight and having an array of 'goodies' including a bottle of wine was a nice touch.
Steve was a great host & we would definitely recommend Pear Tree Cottge. The snow made the drive down the lane a challenge, but it did look beautiful.
The cottage was just right for 2 people. Quiet, rural but handy to explore Kent. It was comfortable, cosy and a great place to re-charge our batteries. Even the sun made an appearance. Brilliant!
My fiance and I had a lovely time at Pear Tree Cottage, it's really roomy and has everything you need for a weekend away. The photographs, while good, definitely don't do it justice!
The welcome hamper of bread, biscuits, porridge, tea, coffee, milk, butter and wine was really appreciated and great for that first night/morning.
The village of West Peckham is a 5 minute walk away down a country track and the local pub is definitely worth a visit - really good food and lovely friendly local atmosphere.
There are lots of walks you can start from West Peckham - although would recommend a circular one as buses/taxis aren't easily available.
We also went to Whitstable for the day which was only a 45 minute drive away. One of the best places in the country side for oysters, seafood and a really good pint/gin and tonic.
Overall would really recommend this for a couple for a weekend away who just want to relax and spend a bit of time in the countryside. Steve and Rita were always on hand to give help/advice and we had some lovely apples and pears from their orchard.
The owners were so friendly and helpful and did everything they could to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The wi-fi is pretty spotty but I enjoyed the chance to be unplugged for a bit. We didn't have a car and though we managed OK with cabs, we would have been better off if we'd had one. We also had a couple of meet-ups with friends at the nearby pub that did great food and local beer. Highly recommended!
We have stayed at this accommodation on several occasions this year while working nearby.
The cottage is well furnished, comfortable and set in a quiet rural location amongst fields. Everything that we needed for our visits was available.
When we had any other requests or queries, the charming owners were always extremely helpful.
Internet access was somewhat patchy on our phones, but no problem at all on laptops.
Had there not been other bookings, we would happily have stayed here for the whole summer. Steve and Rita could not have been more hospitable, and we left feeling more like friends than paying guests.
Highly recommended for a quiet break in the heart of Kent.
