The place has really changed with the new owners and it's definitely looking very promising :-) clean glasses, clean toilets clean pub that's a huge improvement in itself.

First night atmosphere was really homely and inviting definitely warm and welcoming.

Tunes were banging and everyone was dancing drinking and being merry almost like a Xmas party.

The new owners have more ideas and things to do but if last night is anything to go by then the community is in for a real treat :-)

“Sort it out”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

Well, this is in response to other comments. The glasses are not clean, and regular clients take their own glass along for this reason, the place is dirty. They very rarely have decent branded drinks, cheap versions are available at the same price as branded, poor. Lets put it this way, the previous owners ran this place like clockwork, immaculately clean, never a dirty glass, with a clean bar area.. always. Proper Organised events were a regular feature of this establishment. Not now, events are far and few compared to before. This place was taken over by new owners a year ago, and unfortunately they are running it into the ground. Nobody can deny the lack of commitment on their behalf, it is appalling and quite sad. They have tarnished what was once a little gem, so here's hoping they take note of the reality of the poor yet very honest comments and change the place around. Then maybe more people would come back to the good old Queen Anne, and the customers would be proud to once again call it their local gay pub, which is not the case at the moment.

“Great”
Reviewed 7 October 2013 via mobile

Ignore reviews about people, Genially the customers are great people, fun place to be, karaoke are in my opinion their best nights, doesn't matter wether you can sing it's just fun to take part, however I can not comment on their Fridays and Saturdays as I do not go there as I am working, but the photos on Facebook are impressive.
It's a shame one person is giving this place bad reviews STILL based on their childish opinions on people who visit there. This person doesn't reflect the clientele at all.

“Perfect Venue”
Reviewed 27 September 2013

This place screams enjoyment.

Fantastic staff who excel at providing tip-top service.

Although this pub has traditionally been known for its gay clientelle, there are many people who drink here regardless of orientation, appearance or age.

The drinks prices are not over the top. You don't just pay for a decent drop of glug, but the overall experience. A smile with each pint, served in the correct (and always clean) glass. Only premium branded spirits unless temporarily unavailable. When they have ale on, it is pulled through a well maintained line and served at a reasonable price.

The garden is a wonderful relaxed setting, with heating for those chilly evenings.

The DJ's are always top notch.

The pub even has a mascot in the form of a very friendly dog, who is shut out of the way if requested. The Sunday Barbecues are amazing value for money.

They say in life you get what you pay for, but here the staff are always keen to give you that little bit extra.

I am privileged to call this one of my local watering holes.

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

I went here on a Sunday afternoon for a drink or two and some food. I know it's a gay friendly venue and I have always tried to support them as I know gay venues can sometimes struggle.

The good points; the bar tender was very friendly and spoke positively about the pub. The venue has been jazzed up a bit and that's always a bonus.

The bad points; the pub is expensive for what you are getting. We ordered a coke and alcopop which totalled £5.75. When the drinks arrived the alcopop was the cheap value range and the coke was basic coke. If you are going to sell cheap versions of drinks then the prices should be edited to reflect this. There was no food available which for a pub on a Sunday is disappointing. Although, in the pubs defence I was told there is normally food on a Sunday which is £5 for all you can eat.

The place is very messy. In the back garden the plants are dead, the patio needs a sweep, there were fag butts everywhere, and a saw laying on the ground- which is dangerous.

All in all I hope the pub can sort these little bits out. Unfortunately; I will not be returning. I have spent many years trying to support the Queen Anne and always feel a little disappointed when leaving
