“Tranquil retreat”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

We stayed here for one night, it was our first venture to a Premier Inn. It was very well priced, and had a very comfy bed. The amenities were a little spars but hey for the money, what would you expect.

A nice tranquil retreat, thank you

Couldn't fault this as a stopover. Plenty of car parking, very friendly staff. Room had been made up really appropriately including a fan as it was a really hot day/night. Reasonably priced too. We had the buffet breakfast which was excellent value & lots of choice.

The bed was comfortable and room clean.....the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel has no frills but is perfectly acceptable for a short stay. The only downside is the Beefeater Restaurant which is next to the hotel and provides breakfast. I can only describe the food and experience as awful......it was a shame as it spoiled the stay

Location wise, this hotel is just off the motorway so ideal for a stopover en route to the channel etc. Parking is easy. The rooms are standard Premier Inn, clean, comfortable - adequate for one night. Tea/Coffee provided. Traffic noise isn't too much of an issue but our room suffered from the floodlights outside which run the length of the building and the curtains do not block it out. In effect every other room must have this problem due to the placing of the lights. The mean-ness of the 30 mins only free WiFi was a bit disappointing too.

There is an adjacent Beefeater Pub for meals and breakfast. This was quite busy but service was reasonably brisk. Portions were huge to excessive but I guess that's what the mostly local clients want! Breakfast is a buffet with hot food to order. The coffee comes from an urn - a bit disappointing for a Costa outlet.

Overall, however, this is a reasonably priced stopover and in fine weather the riverside location would make the terrace an attractive option.

we spent a short stay here but the staff have excellent skills to make your stay as comfortable as possible the bedroom is very nice for the price you pay is clean comfortable and warm.....the restaurant is separate from the hotel....but.... the breakfast caters for most things and the food in the restaurant at lunchtime is reasonable but can get very busy so be patient as you might have to wait..(which tells you its popular) with locals as well as the hotel customers..it sits on the river which has a lovely outlook ...we would go here again

We decided to opt for the premier inn over other budget hotels and we're so glad we did!
I received a confirmation call a few days before and asked if we needed a table reservation during our stay. We were greeted by the nicest hotel receptionist we've seen in a long while! Unfortunately I didn't catch her name but she was so smiley, chatty and although she was clearly hitting all her points needed (maybe we picked up on it as we used to work in hotels) she was very relaxed and welcoming.
The room was exceptionally clean- particularly the bathroom. I had no problems jumping in the bath for a long soak- normally I try and steer clear of touching too much in other budget hotels!
The choice of pillows is a great unique selling point and the room was very comfortable.
We had problems with the taxi we had booked not turning up but the receptionist did all she could to help us out and get another one.
The next morning we were greeted by her again and she was just as smiley and even asked how the party we went to was- normally staff in hotels are grumpy on a Sunday- not this lady. I don't often say it but she is a real credit to this hotel.
We are definitely going to return to the premier inn chain and will favour them to other brands.. Let's just hope their cleanliness standards and superb staff are not a one off!
