“stopover”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

When we booked we asked for quiet room. We later got a courtesy call saying this had been noted & asking if we had any other special requirements.
On arriving fairly late the receptionist was very helpful & said she had pulled the curtains & put the heating up for us. The room was really quiet and faced the trees at the back. The motorway is only a short distance away but not noticeable outside the hotel.
The room was well looked after and the bathroom spotlessly clean.
Coffee and tea was enough for two cups but the receptionist gave us loads more on request. No biscuits. The bed was comfy with a choice of hard or soft pillows.
There was no phone / alarm clock in the room, first time for me. So you had to go down to reception for help. When I went to have a quick electric shave I had a problem - no shaver socket!
There is a big Beefeater next door for meals and breakfast but we didn't try it.
The wifi is free for the first 30 mins. but I think you have to log out because I used it for 5 mins & then later it said that I had used up all my time! Rather annoying.
Overall mostly excellent but I've never been to a hotel room with no phone, no shaver socket, no biscuits, & wifi costing an extra £3, smacks a bit of Ryanair tactics and lost an overall excellent rating.

We stayed here for one night, it was our first venture to a Premier Inn. It was very well priced, and had a very comfy bed. The amenities were a little spars but hey for the money, what would you expect.

A nice tranquil retreat, thank you

Couldn't fault this as a stopover. Plenty of car parking, very friendly staff. Room had been made up really appropriately including a fan as it was a really hot day/night. Reasonably priced too. We had the buffet breakfast which was excellent value & lots of choice.

The bed was comfortable and room clean.....the staff friendly and helpful. The hotel has no frills but is perfectly acceptable for a short stay. The only downside is the Beefeater Restaurant which is next to the hotel and provides breakfast. I can only describe the food and experience as awful......it was a shame as it spoiled the stay

Location wise, this hotel is just off the motorway so ideal for a stopover en route to the channel etc. Parking is easy. The rooms are standard Premier Inn, clean, comfortable - adequate for one night. Tea/Coffee provided. Traffic noise isn't too much of an issue but our room suffered from the floodlights outside which run the length of the building and the curtains do not block it out. In effect every other room must have this problem due to the placing of the lights. The mean-ness of the 30 mins only free WiFi was a bit disappointing too.

There is an adjacent Beefeater Pub for meals and breakfast. This was quite busy but service was reasonably brisk. Portions were huge to excessive but I guess that's what the mostly local clients want! Breakfast is a buffet with hot food to order. The coffee comes from an urn - a bit disappointing for a Costa outlet.

Overall, however, this is a reasonably priced stopover and in fine weather the riverside location would make the terrace an attractive option.

we spent a short stay here but the staff have excellent skills to make your stay as comfortable as possible the bedroom is very nice for the price you pay is clean comfortable and warm.....the restaurant is separate from the hotel....but.... the breakfast caters for most things and the food in the restaurant at lunchtime is reasonable but can get very busy so be patient as you might have to wait..(which tells you its popular) with locals as well as the hotel customers..it sits on the river which has a lovely outlook ...we would go here again
