This restaurant is under new management and the food is brilliant, the atmosphere inviting, Sunday lunch to die for. But be advised you have to book.

Post wedding day celebration. Felt very uncomfortable, made to feel as if we were an inconvenience. There were 20 of us and the staff couldn't cope. Some of us had finished our main courses before the children had even received their starters. Every time a complaint was made the staff tried to argue and justify the problems by saying we didn't pre order. It was suggested we pre order but it was not made a pre requisit of our booking being taken. The booking should have been politely declined as they clearly cannot cope with this volume of people. To quote the member of staff "no restaurant in the world would be able to serve this many people without a pre order" well she clearly isn't very well travelled. After two of the children, a four and one year old, had been waiting for an hour and a half, their mother (the bride) was 'barked' at to keep the children seated. Very unreasonable to expect kids to sit for this long whilst hungry. Yes we could have asked for the kids to be fed first but we weren't expecting such a long wait. It should have been obvious to the staff that the kids need to be served first.

The food was good, hot and tasty, however, the whole experience has left a very nasty taste. . . .

We went for the first time tonight! However I am on weightwatchers diet and they bent over backwards to offer me food to suit my diet. The result...... I had a brilliant evening as the pub was buzzing and I kept within my points .. Thank you tree I shall be back often xxx

Can't review food.. Never got that far.. A maintenance man told the staff we were outside and the door opened, no greeting, the women was saying,.. is it twelve oclock this was the time they were supposed to open. (it was 12.05 ) then a man looking very cross mumbled to her its not 12yet... No hello or anything. I asked if they were doing food the lady replied' soooon' then i asked for a diet coke and for my friend a black coffee to which the lady replied 'NO coffee the machine is broken and there fixing it'.The woman then told us, if you want food you should order straight away as a big party was arriving at half past 12 and we'd have to wait.... At this point, we haven't even seen the menu. My friend asked shall I wait for the coffee machine to be fixed and the woman said rudely' they might not fix it'.. With that we walked out, we felt we were an inconvenience... Never been there before and will never go there again. Disgraceful.

Further to popping in for a drink and taking a look at their menu. We decided to book for a Saturday meal.

I had a read on here and saw that they scored well.

We had a very pleasant meal. Everything cooked very well and so tasty too. I would recommend the chorizo in red wine and port reduction. The sauce that came with the Wiener schnitzel was so creamy. I don't like fish pie but my other half had it and it looked and smelt very good. He really enjoyed it.

We also had puddings - banoffee pie and the lemon posset again home made and hit the spot.

Thanks for filling us up so much!
We look forward to returning and trying new dishes.

Thank Saunders-long
