“Good pub food, good service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 April 2012

We went here a couple of times over the space of a weekend as we were staying in the local Hilton for a wedding. The food was good quality pub food and despite there been a lot of us on a Saturday lunchtime it was served quickly and without fuss.

With all of our party been from "up north" we all found the drinks very expensive (but they're probably average for the area) but the food priced much the same as we're accustomed too and of a good quality. The staff were very nice too.

Overall very pleased and wouldn't hesitate to return if I was staying in the area again.

“Great Sunday roast”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 March 2012

Whilst away for the weekend, we ate here. The carvery was brilliant, the meat was really well cooked and the potatos and veg were great. It was a really good price and we had a table looking out onto the water.
Would recommend eating here.

“One step up from your family "chain" restaurants”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 January 2012

We were pleasantly surpised when we turned up at this restaurant. I'd booked it blindly off the internet as it was convenient for our Kent/Essex family catch up, and wasn't expecting much. I thought it would be one of those run of the mill family restaurants. OK, fine dining it isn't, no tablecloths or candles, but it was hearty food and good value. I've paid a lot more for a lot less.

We had the carvery, which was delicious, and the deserts were good. But what we liked about it most was the outlook onto a lake, and the tables were of a decent size and not all squashed in. Very spacious.
