I really enjoyed the one night spent at this hotel. Stayed because it very close to a function i was going to. The room was pleasant, as where the staff..but the breakfast was very good..& being honest i found this deal (best price ever for 2 people & breakfast, at £66.00...so cannot complain..the deal was hidden behind the normal prices)..even so it was very nice & i would recommend to anybody!!

Although the location is a bit odd, the hotel has spacious and functional bedrooms.
Quiet surprised when we saw a staff member working there for 40 years at the breakfast service.
Checkin was ok, dinner service and the meal was really good. We have also really enjoyed the service and breakfast in the morning.

... this is a noisy and poorly maintained alternative.
The rooms are decent, however, maintenance is not the top priority of the management (eg, holes here and there on the carpets). It is a clean hotel, rooms has poor light, bathrooms with minimal amenities (the necessary ones, which is good).
It has a convenient restaurant in the premises.
And ... noise. Lots. If you stay rather close to the elevators or some entrance, then carry some earplugs. In my case, I heard people laughing, shouting, chatting from 12:00am to 3:00am. Not nice. A colleague of mine complained and he got a GBP 50 rebate. I was in a hurry, so I did not ask for the same. This is for telling that it was not only me.
Regarding their staff, really very nice, trying to help at every time (front desk, restaurant).
Another comment on how "old" things are around here, is the check-in and check-out time. It takes several minutes, much more than necessary, seems that they do not have a very friendly system, or ....

Room Tip: Do not stay close to the elevators!!!!!! (Normal rule for every hotel, but this one in particular).

For the price this is a lovely hotel. have stayed here several times and received consistently good service from the moment to get to reception until we check out. the bar staff are adorable, the breakfast waitresses just lovely and so helpful. cannot fault this hotel at all.

An older hotel that needs updating. Staff is nice. Rooms are a bit small and out of date. The toiletries are not good so bring your own. Not much in restaurant or bars around. It is only a 10 minute ride to high street where the mall and restaurants are.

Would not recommend as a vacation or staying more than two days. It's decent enough for a quick overnight business trip.

My husband and I had the pleasure of two separate week long stays in September/October 2013. We are seasoned travellers and cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful service at the Watford Hilton. The staff in every area of the hotel were always friendly and helpful. This positive attitude obviously comes from the top, as the Front Desk Manager always did everything possible to be helpful and find a prompt solution to any request or minor problem that we had. The breakfasts at the hotel were superb and the service by the waiting staff was equally superb. After a couple of days into our stay, we no longer had to ask for things such as extra hot water and lemon slices with our breakfast tea, the staff remembered and brought them automatically. It was also nice that whenever we entered the breakfast room or on returning to the hotel at night, we were always met with a friendly greeting by name. The bedrooms were spacious and very comfortable, with opening windows and individual air conditining controls. Another plus of this hotel is that there is an agreement with a local taxi firm to take one to/from the hotel at very reasonable fixed prices. The only slight minus at this hotel was that some of the carpets in the public areas need replacing but this is a very minor "nitpick" compared to the outstanding service we received.

We stayed for 2 nights at The Hilton Watford. The main purpose of our visit was to take our grandson to The Harry Potter Film Studios. It was very convenient, less than 4 miles away. We booked the hotel via Expedia, our request for two adjoining rooms hadn't been passed on but this wasn't a problem for the reception staff. Within 10 minutes everything had been sorted for us. We were allocated ground floor rooms, which was ideal for my disabled wife.
The food was very good, evening meals and breakfasts and my dietary requirement of gluten free food was no problem at all.
As our grandson is 10 years of age there was no charge for his breakfasts.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful, we couldn't have wished for better.
One special word of praise for The Housekeeping Manager, she posted our grandson's i-pod for him after I phoned to say we'd forgotten to pack it, it arrived safely the day after our departure.
Thank you very much Cheryl.
