Service from staff was good. General reception was also well presented. The room standards are not up to that expected for a Hilton. The brans name is carrying this particular site. I have stayed in Premier Inn's with far better room standards and quieter sleeps. This hotel does not offer value for money, rather a location of convenience.

It looked shabby from the outside. On entry, the decor was tired and old. The staff (just the one lady) at the reception was quite unfriendly. The view from the room was awful...the car park. The house keeping staff were quite inefficient and didn't seem to understand what we were talking about. It's not all negative though, breakfast was excellent. Very good variety and the staff in the restaurant were very friendly, the best in the hotel I'd say. All in all, I personally won't be making a return visit.

I stayed here with my young son for one night - it is well located to drive to the Arsenal FC training facility.

It isn't the most modern hotel, but it is clean and everything was in good order. The single beds in our twin room were a bit narrow for my liking, but neither of us fell out of bed so they must be OK.. The breakfast was very good. The front desk, restaurant and especially the housekeeping staff were very pleasant and friendly. I left a toilet bag in my room, and the hotel sent it to me after I called to ask for it. I was most impressed with the service.

The pool and health club looked nice but I didn't have time to use them.

Recommended.

We are a family of four and booked this hotel at the last minute on the premise of it being close to The Harry Potter Studio Tour (the purpose of the trip) and that it had a pool. The hotel is very dated and in dire need of a refit, to be fair the public spaces are kept clean and the staff are friendly. We had a junior suite with a double bed and a double sofa bed for the two children, both beds were very uncomfortable the sofa bed being more like a egg slicer with blanket for a matress. Almost every floorboard creeked loudly i think this was the same for the entire area of the hotel as we could hear the creeking from our neighboring rooms also, the bathroom floor wasn't cleaned very well and the shower head had it's own echo system as did the showers in the pool/gym area. We didn't eat at the hotel as it looked nicer for lunch and breakfast at the pub next door and there was a nice chinese restaurant five minutes down the road. We would of complained in the night but we were all tired from the HP tour and the kids would of slept on a clothes line (and did) and we didn't want the messing of moving to another room in the night and to be honest we didn't think it would improve if we did. We did let them know about the bad night sleep and poor room at check out (we joined the queue) and they were very apologetic. If you are visiting HP tour dont stay at a hotel in town there's usually a car park if your driving and there's the HP tour bus from the train station if your not. This hotel is very old and very worn and very dated and i am very suprised it reached #6 in the trip adviser ratings, i would hate to see #7.

Room Tip: Select a room in another hotel.

A very nice hotel in watford with neatly laid out rooms and nice restaurant for breakfast though slightly away from the town center but otherwise a nice stay at watford countryside, with a nice sauna and steam room.

The Hilton Watford is situated on a busy road and to be honest is not much to look at from the outside. What a pleasant surprise awaited us. The interior is lovely and all the staff cheerful and welcoming. We were offered 2 adjoining rooms instead of the junior suite booked and were delighted with this as the young adults in our family had their own bathroom and TV. The rooms were both spacious, clean and comfortable. We appreciated the complimentary jelly beans and nuts together with bottled water and a well stocked hostess tray. Everything worked well and I even used the ironing board! We used the pool and hot tub facilities which were both good and added a holiday feel to our stay. Despite the hotel's location, it was extremely quiet. Breakfast was excellent - plenty of choice, served in pleasant surroundings. Overall an excellent experience and only a short distance from the Harry Potter Studio Tour.
