Best Western White House Hotel

I stayed here to watch a midweek football match and the location was perfect (max 10 mins walk). The hotel was good value, clean, reasonably modern, good staff and a good bar area. The parking is easy (back of the hotel) and the room was quite sufficient with a very good 18 hour internet connection for free. The town of Watford is pretty grim to say the least but this hotel is a shining light.

First time here, had to re-arrange a 3 day work trip to a 4 day one so ended up struggling to find a hotel in West London/Reading corridor.

Missed the turning for the hotel and due to the wonderous delight of the roads in Watford, it took 15 mins to get back (only went about 2 miles - rush hour).

Parked in car park opposite main entrance, bit tight but had seen they had limited parking which could be an issue in the centre of town.

Quick and eay check in. First impressions are of a slightly run down hotel. Bedroom was good, bed on the other hand far too soft BUT and I mean BUT, other guests might complain if their bed was firer (how I like it). Swings and roundabouts. Bathroom was a bit tired and even had a bidet, which I can't remember last time I saw one of these in the uk.

Managed to pick a night Watford were playing Leeds, Leeds fans are funny, in a funny funny way not a funny haha way. Two songs in a pub. At least if all you're singing is two songs in an hour, can you please make sure one of them is half decent...

No idea if food at night time is any good as went out for curry, however breakfast was very good, though they seemed to take offence when I only wanted a small breakfast (not really but the older lady on was trying her best to get me to eat loads).

So for the price paid on the outskirts of London, not bad, not as good as I can get in Mercure Hatfield which is also in my book a better hotel BUT it did its job and although not really in the most ideal place for me to stay, if I had to again, yes I would.

Service from all staff I dealt with was outstanding, and that's the best you can ever get.

Friendly staff, not a bad price, and close to town. but quality of sleep poor due to banging of doors from the corridor, which kept me awake, paper thin walls you can hear the next room. Decor could do with updating bit run down looking, bathroom tatty. Opening doors onto light fittings so was worried going to break it.

I stayed here as I needed somewhere central ready for an early start the next morning. The hotel is conveniently located, being within walking distance of the town centre with good shopping. It has it's own Car Park at the rear which is always a plus. The room was very clean, but did need a bit of updating. The TV was old fashioned, the shower pressure was low, and the bathroom needed a makeover - but it was all very clean. Unfortunately the bed was very hard which is a no no for me, so I wasn't looking forward to my night's sleep, which was actually better than I had anticipated. The restaurant meal in the evening was excellent and good value. All the staff on duty were pleasant and I felt they were eager to please. However, unfortunately the offer of a wake up call (6am) that was suggested to me, was overlooked - thankfully I had my own alarm.otherwise I could have been in a big mess. I would definitely stay at the hotel again, if I was able to secure a softer bed!

Room Tip: If you don't like hard beds mention that when you book!
