We're fairly regular visitors here, both to see theatre and films. It's a beautiful building and atmospheric, with good acoustics and a nice cafe. There are a good variety of plays on for reasonable prices, and it is definitely a bit asset for the town.

Great quiet place just off the main high street in Watford, does a great chocolate cake. Also good for a pre-theatre drink although the plays were not best quality when we went.

Watford is a quaint Hamlet situated to the West of the first ever British brewery owned by Sir John Watford, also noted for being chairman of the greatest championship football team ever known. WATFORD WATFORD EVERYBODY WATFORD

Highly recommend this place to families with children, all year round. They have great performances for kids, the shows are perfectly directed. The theatre was refurbished not long ago, and all facilities are quite modern and easily accessible. You would get a great view from most of the seats.
During the summer they show some great films and recorded critically acclaimed theatre shows.
Also, will highly recommend to see the panto here at Christmas time, and to check what's on during half term.

Have been to this gem of a Victorian theatre many times to see an amazingly wide spectrum of events, ranging from modern free form dance to Alan Ayckbourn. Production values invariably high. Staff friendly and helpful. Check out the movies they show there. Some unique stuff shown.

Only quibble; service in the Green Room can be as slow as a snail on Seconal.

Thank Bruce G
