Stayed whilst visiting our son and partner. Made an excellent base for travelling into London - only 30 mins on train. Hotel excelllent, they guarantee and good night sleep and that is exactly what we received. Very quiet room with comfortable bed, room very spacious for a budget hotel. Towels changed - even though we had hung them up. Complimentary toiletries and plentiful tea & coffee etc. Receptionist very helpful and although we didn't use the facilities, the Rising Sun bar and restaurant appeared to provide an excellent range of food and snacks. Hotel also very close to some lovely walks along the Grand Union Canal to Rickmansworth and out into the country. Would request a room at the back of the hotel and I think the front ones could be a bit noisy so close to the entrance and eatery.

At first we struggled to find a parking spot, but later discovered that there were a lot more spaces behind the hotel. Parking is free as long as you display a ticket, which can be obtained from reception.
Check-in was efficient and friendly.
The room and bathroom were of decent sizes, clean and with adequate storage. There was a small tv (not flat screen) with loads of channels, a hairdrier and table top fan, together with tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was large and comfy. The room was a bit on the warm side and as there is no air conditioning, I imagine it could get very hot in summer. The window opened a little way, but the traffic noise was quite loud and you could hear people on the pavement below.
Our only real gripe was with the attached Brewers Fayre restaurant. On checking in, we were asked what time we wanted to eat and we said 7.30pm. We later received a phone call asking if we could change it to 8.30 as they had a large party booked for 7.30. We said this would be ok. It was after 9.30 before we were served with any food. The food when it arrived was just acceptable for the price. It looked as if it had been thrown onto the plate anyhow. The Sunday roast the next night was better, and it arrived quite quickly and we had not booked a table.
Breakfast both days was a complete shambles. The area of the restaurant set aside for the buffet was way too small and everyone got in one another's way, both guests and staff. The first morning there were no eggs or baked beans and we had to wait ages for cups. The second morning there was no fresh fruit or bacon or hot water with which to make tea. I also saw people waiting for plates. The tomatoes were tinned.
We chose this hotel because it is about 10 minutes walk to Watford station and the Metropolitan line to Wembley stadium and is very handy for that. The hotel itself is fine - a typical Premier Inn - shame about the food.

Room Tip: Find somewhere else to eat.

A great Premier Inn at Watford. Wonderful staff, clean and tidy place. Great parking right next door. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Very good offer too.

As a Carlisle Utd supporter I wanted a place to stay out of London but close enough to Wembley stadium. This hotel fit the bill.
The rooms are typical premier inn rooms, a good size, modern, clean and good value for money.
The location is about a ten minute walk to the nearest tube station with a direct route to Wembley.
I hope to stay again the next time Carlisle make the cup final.

I liked this hotel and my stay here and was pretty impressed with it being a Premier Inn hotel and all. Security wise the lifts only opened for guests with a room card which was good. The room was comfortable with hardly any noise. Breakfast was included and hot food is served as a buffet which I've not experienced before with Premier Inns. Breakfast wasn't ready until 7am one day which was annoying but overall the attached bar/restaurant was good. Location wise - great for those using the two nearby business parks.

We stayed at the Premier Inn in Croxley Green (near Watford) for a family event.

We paid the very low £ 29 a night room rate for 2 nights and six rooms so my expectations were not high.

Our previous stay in the Watford North Premier Inn had not been good (we had to ask for a refund - something we have never done before), but for the price we thought we would give the chain another try, but try their Croxley Green location instead.

We could not have been happier, the hotel staff were friendly, and the hotel itself was clean and well looked after, even the drinks in the attached bar were reasonably prices and the food good.

Parking was free for guests at the hotel, and there were plenty of free spaces.

We would definitely stay in this location again when we are next in the Watford area.

Lenny Henry should come here before he extols the virtue of this chain - he might think again.

This is the 3rd week I have stayed in here - the primary driver being that it is cheaper than most - but not that cheap. They say that everything is premier except the price. Well, in 2010, I suggest that a cold room - so cold that it is uncomfortable to watch TV and I have to wear clothes in bed - is far from Premier. It has reached the stage where I dread a forecast of less than 10 degrees outside. There is a puny electric heater - locked down at 23 degrees Centigrade and this rests itself to a lower temperature during the night.... hardly Premier. The bathroom is unheated, there are no portable heaters available and the absence of any blankets makes for a very uncomfortable night - contrary to their guarantee.

My work contract now runs to the end of the year and I had planned to book for the remaining weeks - primarily because the hotel is very convenient for the office. I am now having 2nd thoughts as I despise the cold and it looks like we are in for colder weather in the coming weeks.

The restaurant is fairly average - sticky tables, slow but polite service and limited choice. Crockery at breakfast time is often grubby but the food is OK. They advertise Costa Coffee included at breakfast but all I have seen is the conference issue urns dispensing over brewed filter coffee.

I may be forced to rebook as it's Hobson's Choice at £65 per night in Watford but not because the experience is Premier. It's clear from other reviews that the lack of aircon in summer means that it is far too hot. If you have to stay here in winter, bring an overcoat, a hot water bottle and a fan heater. On that basis I would not recommend this place to a friend.
