Stayed for 3 nights whilst working at an exhibition nearby.
Our room was nice and at the front of the hotel so we overlooked the golf course which was nice
Used the health club one afternoon and was excellent although I never understand why saunas are single sex in the changing rooms.
Drinks were expensive much better to drive into town and a have a drink at Weatherspoons for a touch of reality.
Had breakfast one morning cost £10 which was a special price reception said.
I refuse to rate a UK hotel as 5 star when they don't offer. Free wifi especially when 3G is not available

We have stayed at this hotel several times for short weekend breaks. Unfortunately on this occasion there was a mix up with our booking and the room with a balcony was not available on our first night. However Oliver on reception organised for us to move the next day and we were very well looked after with complimentary services to make up for the inconvenience. Oliver personally ensuring we moved smoothly. All the staff are helpful and friendly, restaurant food is good as are the leisure and golf facilities. If you want a spa treatment book well in advance as they are frequently fully booked.

Room Tip: Book a balcony room with a golf view

With its location just off the motoway, it is surprisingly peaceful here at Puckrup! The hotel is nicely decorated in the public areas and the bar had a relaxing feel to it. The room was nice, let down by not having air conditioning, only a small fan with the strength of an asthmatic ant! The bay window which opened onto a small balcony, overlooking the golf course was lovely though. We ate in the Balharries Restaurant which was good, the breakfast was also nice and the service was on the slow side but not annoyingly so. There is a seperate Manor House which you can stay in, just metres from the main hotel which looks fabulous! I would stay here again, great location for Cheltenham or Gloucester or indeed Tewkesbury! It would be nice to stay for longer and partake in the golf or the impressive pool and gym facility.

We were warmly welcomed by the Receptionist, but we found our room had not been serviced after the previous occupant's departure. Apart from the dirty cups and glasses, empty bottles, and peanuts on the carpet, the thick layer of dust on every flat surface and the dust bunnies under the furniture and around the carpet edges suggested that the room hadn't been cleaned thoroughly for some time. We chose to keep the room as it was in the quiet part of the hotel as we had requested, and a housekeeper came immediately to put things right. When we returned an hour later everything was perfect. That evening we enjoyed a complimentary dinner in the restaurant as an apology - the food was excellent, as was the service, and we enjoyed it enormously. Even if we had paid for our meal we would have considered it very good value.
Breakfast was also first-class, with a good choice of hot and cold items, fruit and pastries. The restaurant has a pleasant ambiance, with the tables set well apart from each other.
Super pool, warm and uncrowded, but rather lacking in places to sit and relax (I counted only four chairs and two loungers).
We'd definitely come here again - the poor start to our stay was dealt with quickly and courteously.

Room Tip: Quiet rooms are a long walk from the public areas. One small lift (had to use the stairs to avoid long waits). Plenty of car parking but areas nearest the hotel entrance fill up very quickly.

As you would expect from a Hilton, the room was clean, well presented and the bed was extremely comfortable and we were given an upgrade. Negative points are that it is virtually impossible to dry your hair because of the very poor lighting over the desk. The standard lamp was broken. The pool facilities were great - important to us. Reception and staff throughout were very helpful and friendly. The only thing that let it down so far as we were concerned was the dining room. We asked for advice on wine - looking for a rose of about 11-12 per cent alcohol. It was quite clear that the waitress had no idea what we meant. She suggested a Merlot at 14 per cent! We asked if she could check on a particular bottle. She said she wasn't sure they had it as they'd just had some new stock. But she went to check. They had the bottle but the wine waiter was on holiday for 2 weeks, so she couldn't say any more. The glasses of prosecco we ordered arrived quite a time after the wine. The meal was average and formulated but OK you would expect that. When it came to pay a waiter came over and asked us how many bottles of wine we'd had. Service was quite slow. Breakfast was good except that the filled container of fried eggs was not under the heater so mine was cold. But we didn't mind because the waitress was so helpful and friendly. The staff are great but the restaurant staff do need some more training. They are helpful but sound a bit as though they are talking to inmates of an old folks home. But despite these little niggles we had an enjoyable stay and would visit again.

Room Tip: Room 107 is above the external dining tables. So if you want the windows open be prepared for chatting beneath you beyond 11pm.
