Positives

Friendly and very helpful reception and bar staff especially Fern and the young lady with red hair
Food in bar / restaurant very good
Room No 8 was large, comfortable and clean

Negatives

Room 41 (the room we were allocated) was a disaster. It was just outside the main building and right next to the kitchen! The large extractor fan right outside our room went on from the start of breakfast (07.00 until just after 09.00 and again in the evening until after 11.30),
The chef had a radio on from the start of shift and a rang a blooming bell every time a plate was ready to be served. Smoking was obviously allowed outside the main building which meant people could smoke outside our room and with the hot weather and windows open was not appreciated. The room was very small and needed decorating. No phone in the room either. To top it all when we wanted to shower in the morning, the shower did not work!

We obviously pointed this out and were moved to Room 8 which was 20 times better, although there was still some noise from the buses and cars first thing in the morning.

The breakfast room was cosy and the food pretty good with cooked breakfasts, cereals and grapefruit as choices. Unfortunately the ceiling wallpaper was coming away from the ceiling and the staff, although thorough, seemed a "bit off" (no smiles or greetings).

Room Tip: Room 8 was nice and cosy

The Tudor House Hotel has a 'secret garden', although not so secret that we didn't spot it from the street as we were walking past! It was a lovely shady courtyard with flowering pots, so we called in for a morning coffee. If the coffee had been a bit stronger, we would have given five stars.

We stayed in a nice, double room on the 1st floor for 2 nights. All the staff were extremely friendly and they made our stay a very enjoyable experience. We had steaks for our evening meal and traditional breakfasts, we could not fault the food or the service. Only 2 gripes (hardly worth mentioning) 1, our room, being on the front of the building was a little noisy & 2, plastic glasses on breakfast table, ???.
Overall, a great hotel with super staff - we will definitely return.

Visited Tewkesbury again for the Medieval Festival and battle re-enactment. We stayed at our favourite hotel and my partner's daughter was able to come with us. As usual we were given a very friendly welcome and all the staff were their usual professional and helpful selves. Pam and Dave have taken the hotel to the next level. We stayed an extra night this year which meant that we could have Sunday lunch there. Dave kept some lamb shanks back for us and they were sensational. There was scaffolding at the front of the hotel but that did not affect our stay. Some residents objected but there is essential maintenance needed. Definitely recommend this lovely hotel.

Room Tip: All rooms are good. View at back of hotel is better than those at front.

The manager of the hotel booked us in and then showed us to our room which we instantly loved. It overlooked the canal and river and the Malvern Hills in the distance and was very quiet. We stayed for three days and would have stayed longer if we could. The staff are friendly and breakfast was good. My only criticism was that in our room the wardrobe space was a small built in wardrobe with too few hangers, luckily I took some with me. All in all loved our stay.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back have great views
